The charade of theft prevention in the dressing rooms of department stores.
Counting and touching every hanger in your cart and handing you a plastic number when you enter.
But when you leave, the attendant either isn't there or distractedly points to an overstuffed rack of returns mumbling " whatever you don't want".
There's no reconciliation of what you brought in and what you're walking out with. 🤔
Some stores have no limits and/or no attendants.
Some stores lock the fitting room doors requiring customers to track down an associate in order to enter.
Why the discrepancy?
