AOL will officially shut down its dial-up internet service on September 30.
Yeah, read again. I'm not joking.

A new version of ZapStar💫 is out with a "Zap back" button next to each npub in the top 20 list of zappers. This means you can thank your top zappers by zapping them back directly from the ZapStar app.
For this to work, the NWC string is requested and stored in a variable.
- It's never written to your or the webserver’s hard drive.
- It's not saved in localStorage or sessionStorage.
- As soon as you close the browser tab, do a hard refresh, or navigate to another page, this variable and the NWC string are permanently deleted.
If you don't believe it, the GitHub repository has permanent links showing exactly how the NWC string is handled.
1. Storing the String (Line 4):
This is where the sessionNwcURI variable is declared, which only holds the string in memory during your session.
https://github.com/77elements/ZapStar/blob/1c3b4728ace114aeec253e350bbac894f9a909e2/js/zap.js#L4
2. Querying and Assigning the String (Line 286):
This is the exact line where the string entered by the user is written to the variable.
https://github.com/77elements/ZapStar/blob/1c3b4728ace114aeec253e350bbac894f9a909e2/js/zap.js#L286
3. Using the String (Line 293):
This is the line in initiateZap where the string is retrieved from the session variable to initiate the payment. The string isn't sent anywhere else.

I said something pretty similar about a year ago or so, and the reactions ranged from just shrugging it off to straight-up laughing at me. All that "We're so different, we're free spirits" attitude. But he's right. Someday everyone's gonna get caught totally off guard. We're still flying under the radar for now, but for how much longer?

I updated ZapStar so it shows the relays that got queried now. Man, that was a tough nut to crack.

Ok, after lots of tries (sorry for any spam on your timeline), you can now share your Top-20 Zapper list on Nostr if you want to. You can choose to show the Sat amounts when sharing or not.

I think my marketing senses woke up today. Like Spider-Man's spider sense. I feel like I could even sell fridges to Eskimos today. 💪

Dude, what's this bullshit? How are you supposed to get started? By buying followers?
I actually know a few Muslim brothers who bought themselves a meteoric rise like that. Shot past everyone like a rocket, now they have fat popular accounts. They think nobody noticed.
