Along with the chestnuts, today I gathered some mallow leaves and Luigia herb, which I’ll use to make some fragrant autumn herbal teas. I don’t live in the countryside, so these little, rare harvests fill me with joy. image
Your 50s are strange. And maybe that's exactly what makes them beautiful. You reach this age thinking you've finally figured something out about life. Then you look around and realize that everyone is living a completely different story. Some have built everything they once dreamed of. Others are still figuring out what they truly want. And some find themselves starting over just when they thought everything was finally settled. Some look back with nostalgia, others look ahead with excitement, and some are simply trying to enjoy the present without making too many plans. I find myself thinking more and more that there is no right path and no timeline we have to follow. Life doesn't move in a straight line, and it never asks permission before changing direction. Sometimes it surprises you. Sometimes it tests you. And sometimes it makes you laugh precisely when you'd rather be angry at the whole world. Then there are the little contradictions of this age: still feeling full of possibilities, but having much less patience for wasting time on things that don't really matter. Maybe that's what changes. Not necessarily our desire to live, but the way we choose to live. We become more aware of the value of time, genuine people, and the freedom to be ourselves, even when that means changing our minds, starting over, or taking a path others don't understand. At 50, we're not all in the same place. And thankfully, we don't have to be. We don't need to prove anything to anyone or rush to keep up with other people's lives. We can still be surprised, make mistakes, learn, and change direction. With a little more experience, a few more aches and pains, and hopefully our sense of humor still intact. In the end, it's not about having everything under control. It's about learning to live well even when we don't.
A little personal achievement! πŸŽ¨πŸ’» With ChatGPT's help, today I moved my website, my entire art gallery, and my Relay Haven from my Mac mini to a VPS. I'm a painter, not an IT expert, but today I learned something new! πŸš€
Dear art lover who doesn’t know me yet, you might not believe it, but every one of these paintings you see in this video is scattered throughout my home, waiting to find a home with you. Each one is a little piece of me, of my time, of my passion and of my vision of art. You’ll like some, others not at all – and that’s fine. image OLTRE LA RIVA Oil on board, 26Γ—54 cm A new painting is taking shape. Somewhere between the last light of the day and the quiet promise of what lies beyond. Proof-of-work in progress... 🎨⚑
This morning I had pancakes for breakfast, made with what I had: 2 eggs, Greek yogurt, blueberry jam, flour, and honey. Sorry I didn't take pictures because I devoured them as soon as they were made.
