I paint because I don’t know how to pretend that everything is fine. Painting, for me, is not decoration: it’s a way to stay in touch with what I feel, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it’s fragile. My path is not linear. There have been long silences, times of distance from art, and then slow, almost shy returns. Each painting is born from that place: from putting my hands back into color without knowing where it will lead. I don’t seek realism. I seek emotional resonance, something that stays in the viewer’s gaze more than in the shape of things. Buying one of my paintings doesn’t mean “owning a beautiful object.” It means welcoming a fragment of this journey: an honest attempt to turn an inner experience into matter. If one of my works speaks to you, maybe it’s not for the color or the composition. Maybe it’s because, for a moment, you recognize something of yourself in it.

But once you are freed from these chains, you will see the two versions of yourself waiting for you: the child who dreams and the elder who remembers. Live a life that makes them both proud, because in the end you will realise that they were the only people who really mattered.

For an artist who paints, if the only goal becomes 'selling', the canvas dries up and so does his soul. You have to paint to say something that resembles us; every painting must contain a little bit of ourselves. Sales follow when there is truth, not when there is hunger. However, there is also another, harsher truth: hunger really does exist. It is not romantic to ignore it. An artist who has to pay the rent is not 'less pure'. He is only human. Painting just to sell is a problem. But forgetting why you paint is even more so. #art #isolabellart

Sometimes I dream of painting huge canvases. Then I remember that depth doesn’t depend on centimeters, but on how much of yourself you put into the gesture. I’ve already tried larger formats (60×80 and 65×54): they’re still unsold. Trust grows small. “Big” comes later, if it has to.
