THE WAITING THUNDER image The silent tension. The suspended breath of what is about to arrive. The second of SILENCE AMONG THE CLOUDS. Not the thunder itself β€” but the waiting. The moment before. When the air holds everything and releases nothing. Sometimes silence isn't the absence of sound. It's the presence of what hasn't happened yet. 20Γ—20cm, oil on cradled wood panel Available now: 180,000 sats (shipping included) πŸ”— πŸ”— Or DM me directly. #art #artstr #painting #isolabellart #silenceamongtheclouds
Today, protective varnish on SILENCE AMONG THE FLOWERS. image This is the moment I wait for β€” when the colors wake up. The varnish doesn't add anything. It just reveals what was already there, hidden under the matte surface. Blues become deeper. Reds pulse. Yellows glow. These four have been drying for three weeks since I finished them in late September. Now they're sealed, protected, ready. SILENCE AMONG THE FLOWERS β€” the second movement of the larger project. Four paintings about fragility. About bloom and fade. About the silence held inside petals before they fall. 20Γ—20cm each, oil on cradled wood panel. Available as a complete quartet. πŸ”— πŸ”— Or DM me directly. #art #artstr #painting #isolabellart #silenceamongtheflowers
Someone asked me yesterday: β€œWhen did you become a painter?” I said: β€œApril 2022 β€” I only lost thirty years from when I already was.” Sometimes we don’t become. We return. View quoted note β†’
Let me tell you something you may not know: I gave up painting for almost thirty years and only recently picked up my brushes again. Was April 2022 when I start again. I painted a portrait of my wife. I told myself: "If this works, I'll return to painting. If not, I'll walk away forever." It wasn't perfect. But it was enough. For years I'd worked as a graphic designer. I'd let art fade β€” the way you let something precious die: without a reason. But art didn't abandon me. It waited. That portrait reopened a door. And since then, I haven't stopped. Sometimes you don't need a grand moment. You just need to decide to try one more time. #art #artstr #painting #isolabellart
