GM Nostr. Day 21 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. Sipping on some med/light Honduran this morning and contemplating the last 3 weeks on Nostr. I survived all the BIP110 arguments without getting turned off again. Just put some work into curating my feed a little. Found out about the Coldcard debacle here and really didnt see it anywhere else in my social feeds. Was able to spread the word to my community. Found some interesting new folks to follow and reconnected with some that I enjoyed following before I took a Nostr break. At this point I find myself coming to Nostr first, using it longer, posting more and engaging more than any other of my socials. It just takes a little work on the user end. #grownostr #coffeechain #gm
Being able to fix your own shit pays off once again. My TPMS alerted me that the truck was losing pressure. Found a damn rock buried in the tire. Pulled it. Plugged it. Aired the tire back up. About 10 minutes later I was back in business. Even better, this isn't hypothetical "emergency gear." I recently used the same plug kit and compressor when the trailer picked up a nail. Three pieces of gear that have officially earned permanent space in the truck: ๐Ÿ›ž VEHICLEX Tire Plug Kit โ€” under $20 https://amzn.to/4wVpiT4 ๐Ÿ’จ VIAIR 300P Compressor โ€” currently 30% off https://amzn.to/4zfrab4 ๐Ÿ“Ÿ GUTA TPMS โ€” the reason I knew I had a problem before the tire got really low https://amzn.to/3RNaVkN Cheap insurance against turning a simple puncture into a much bigger pain in the ass. GM Nostr. Day 20 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. Sipping on some med/light Hondruan before heading out to sweat my ass off chipping brush and cutting trunks to size. The heat and humidity this summer here just won't give me a break at all. Going on 3 months solid. Still better than an MN winter though. Make it a great day.
GM Nostr. Day 18 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. Sipping on some med/light Honduran this morning and wondering why so many people in TN don't look after their dogs. Down the street on our walk there is routinely 2 dogs out, not on leads that charge, bark and follow us on our walk. Our boys would destroy the thing if it got close enough but it is the annoyance of dealing with it that bothers me. This is far from the first renter at that place with the same issues. Out to continue cleaning up the trees I dropped last week for the rest of the day. Make it a great day.
image A rotten tree tried to knock me around. The internet mostly failed at fixing my vinyl floor. I'm rebuilding my Nostr habit. And there's a Flock camera story that should make everyone think twice about how license plate readers are really being used. Replay links below. https://fountain.fm/episode/Qsb11bY65SCpcnNKsR9j
GM Nostr. Day 17 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. Sipping on some medium light Honduran this morning. Knocked out episode 900 of my livestream/podcast this morning. Talked about felling trees, fixing my vinyl floor, rebuilding my nostr habit and a quick chat about Flock. I will post the Fountain link once it is uploaded. Laundry day today and also putting some work into a hustle that hopefully brings in some cashflow. Almost ready to launch it. Make it a great day. #coffeechain #grownostr #gm
GM Nostr. Day 16 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. What does it take for a habit to take hold? 28 days? Sipping on some med/light Brazilian before a busy day. Weekly grocery run and then off to the cabin for my flooring fixes. Injecting adhesive under the bubbles in the sheet vinyl worked for the small bubbles we tested Friday, yesterday we did some medium sized ones. We should see today if it worked and if so be able to tackle the last larger 2 bubbles qnd be done fixing this fuck up. I am thankful that at least it was only one small section of the floor we fucked up. I will be excited when it is all done. Make it a great day.
GM Nostr, day 15 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. Sipping on some med/light Brazilian before we head back out to see how our floor repair test worked out. We are fixing some bubbles under newly layed sheet vinyl. We tried poking a hole and pushing out the air. It laid flat but eventually popped back up. We tried some heat to "shrink" it a little and that had no effect. So we injected some of yhe floor adhesive under the bubble, worked it flat and put a board and some weight over it. Today we will see if it worked. We have a few other spots to fix once we find the method that works. All the spots are within 1 half of 1 sheet we fucked up on, the rest of the floor turned out perfect. Smh. Fingers crossed the test spots look good when we get out there. Make it a great day.
I've cleared most of my future off-grid solar site without hiring an excavator. This video covers the tools that actually made the biggest difference (and one I seriously underestimated). If you're reclaiming overgrown land or building a homestead, hopefully it'll save you some trial and error. #grownostr #offgrid #homesteading
GM Nostr. Day 14 of rebuilding that Nostr habit. I am finding myself on legacy socials less and less and spending more of that time exploring and posting on Nostr again. Sipping on some med/light Brazilian while I print some shipping labels for some orders going out. Sold some wooden triangle blanks for crafting over on Etsy. I love making money from my scrap wood. My wife and I will be attempting to fix our couple mistakes on our vinyl floor install. One section ended up with some bubbles because it wasnt quite tight when we rolled it out on the glue. We have a few different methods to try today and some more "invasive" methods to try later this weekend if these dont work Make it a great day.
GM Nostr. Lucky day 13 of rebuilding my Nostr habit. I am starting to post on here before heading to other socials again. Curating my feed more every day and feeling that Nostr vibe again that I enjoyed so much. Sipping some med/light Brazilian while I edit this weeks YT video for my solar build/raincatch/offgrid series. Then headed out to dig some comfrey root, cut some wood triangle blanks for an Etsy sale i made and hopefully start chipping up some of the brush from dropping trees yesterday. Its gonna be a busy one. Make it a great day. ##grownostr #coffeechain
i think the purple passion fruit flowers are my favorite thing that pops up on our property here in west TN. I always stop and check them out when I see them. I think this is the first time I have seen two side by side, they are normally spread out along the vine. Must be two vines twisted together.
image Successful day felling trees. 6 on the ground where planned and got them all limbed up. Tallest was about 65' and 18" dia at the base. 2 of them were standing dead trunks about 30' tall and 20" dia, my bar didnt quite reach across. Super sketchy since they had no limbs and both straight up and down. So much rot they could have either fallen any direction. Busted out the wedges and made sure I had plenty of escape routes and things went pretty smooth. I did take a wedge to the kisser when it popped out when I was driving it in. Overall a solid day running the saws. Lots of work left cleaning them up. But the solar field is open, only trees left are to reduce morning shade and a couple that would hit the array if they fell.
