Seeing Safina move to champion your favorite alcohol salesman is an early sign where things are headed for Muslims in NYC and likely many other cities here in America. The USA Dawah Inc branch has made a political choice to fight and picked the wrong weapon. I'm honestly sorry for SH because he's clearly gullible and probably so riddled with legal debt now that he's forced to double down on this scheme. This is also where SAIF has an advantage, not just practically but also ethically, in it's ability to reshape the scene. So a first observation from reviewing the SAIF mag (which I'll admit is a very surface level observation) is that the periphery identified aligns well with localities we've observed making the #digitalhijra to nostr. Aside from the obvious western periphery, there are significant nostr communities that have evoled around Japanese, Malay & Iranian cultural influences. To what degree nostr can play in the suggested intensification should be explored further. Perhaps this also speaks to the difficulty seen in more central muslim cultures, like Arab and Desi, to grok SAIF as more of a cultural bias than an intelectual one.
