I hear a lot of Muslims talk about how rich GCC countries can just buy their way out of western domination. I think most here recognize this as the falacy that it is but, for those in the back, here's a quick review of how silly this is: Annual USA investment dominates in the region at around 40% of all incoming foriegn investments, and they don't need "natural resources" to back this investment as they are the money printer and the monoploy on the global bond market. GCC states would have to invest back 16x that amount just to equalize the trade imballance. That's an increase of over $70B annually. So the situation isn't even close to being euqalized let alone progress being made to reverse it. Opportunity does exist in the event of USD collapse. However, planning for that situation is not evident or existent in the dislogue.

We need to explore more what post-nation state mythology looks like
