I intentionally withdrew myself as a donation recipient. I wanted our most active technical contributors to be the ones benefitting from donations, directly receiving periodic digital monetary expressions of gratitude over time as the project grows and reaches more and more bitcoiners. (As a side note -- if you're a user or otherwise receiving value from our project, I'd encourage you to send some sats their way via the above URL.) As for myself, I've always offered to sell signers p2p for bitcoin via DMs / email, but for a long time I've been wanting to level up in that regard. Over the last weeks I've finally gotten a proper LN node set up, where I also run @npub155m2...dcvg and a modest (for now) web presence. I need to express a lot of gratitude to @Printer, @Dimi and @Start9 for their help as I've worked to become more of a 1st class bitcoin citizen. With planned trips to Nashville, Atlanta, and Amsterdam to represent the project on the horizon, I'm looking to stack some sats that will help me continue to spread the SeedSigner gospel of a more trustless, more self-reliant approach to saving with bitcoin. Our project will be participating in the Bitcoin Conference MakerSpace next month in Nashville -- come by our booth to learn about multisig cold storage and our DIY, stateless signing model for long-term saving with bitcoin. 🧡

The essence of "bitcoin-only" is not about excluding or removing features that are related to "crypto" from a given product, it's about not wasting time and resources on creating them to begin with.

I wouldn't use the word "scam" for what he's describing here, but the hardware wallet companies definitely work hard to shape the information landscape around cold storage issues, and often don't help users understand the tradeoffs involved with their devices. Rando LN question for anyone out there with knowledge / experience. I have a node that has been up for a couple of weeks now, with five channels open. I regularly interact with CashApp and am having trouble getting LN payments through to that service; have trouble with small and large, size doesn't seem to matter. I'm however able to reliably send sats to services like Mutiny and Boltz. As far as I know CashApp doesn't have infrastructure with published details to be able to open a channel directly to them. Does anyone have any ideas on peer(s) I could open additional channel(s) to that would resolve this issue? Appreciate any constructive perspectives. 🙂
