Bitcoin doesn't need a marketing team. Monetary incentives do the work. Nostr DOES need a marketing team. But not just enthusiasts going to Bitcoin conferences. It needs a funded team of creators and social experts. Tutorials for creators and incentives for curators and freedom-minded users to join in. This wouldn't take more than $300k per year, and could really kick-start the network effects. Think about it. One big celeb brings 10k users here. They onboard a few friends. Yes, we have a lot of work to do with development and UX, but without a user base, services will never be able to monetize Nostr infrastructure. To avoid a chicken/egg situation, we need investment. Bitcoin needs stories to win. I am absolutely convinced of this. Today, I see virtually zero new stories emerging. Not from conferences, not from educators, not from companies, not from builders. Not even from writers. Problem ➡️ solution is NOT a story. No characters. No struggle. No happily ever after. ... no one cares about your product, service, or app. Most people in the world are not economists, developers, or even realists. They only care when something hacks their emotions. Give them a good story, and you make them care. Yes, we must build, but without stories, we are just idealists writing code for solutions that will never be implemented.

Day 751 of trying to change my address in Spain (this is not an exaggeration) WTF happened? For most of this period, I was waiting for the sellers of my property (6 people) to complete various paperwork with the town hall. This allowed them to register their ownership after inheritance, before the property passed to me. I owned the property as soon as I bought it, but local authorities ha it registered to the deceased until all paperwork was done. A few months ago, I was finally able to register it as my own. Then I had to pay the backtaxes on the property. Joy. Anyway, I've been trying to register it as my primary address. There are two ways to do this: 1. Get an appointment in person, bring 6 separate pieces of paper, and pray that the civil cervant feels like doing their job. Last time I did this it took 7 visits to the government building and 2 phone call. Also not a joke. 2. Submit the paperwork online. I went for option 2. Sounds easy, right? Well, it took 2 hours of research to find the right portal, logins, and documents. 3 hours trying to submit the form, and no joy. It needs electronic certificates and auto-signing software that I can't use on my mobile phone or computer. I asked a developer friend for help. It took us 2 hours to submit the form. Done! But wait. The process usually takes 4-6 weeks to approve. (Why???) I waited. Yesterday, I logged in to see that one of the forms the text said I DIDN'T need was 'pending submission'. I'd have to submit it. I filled in the form (asking 10-20 questions to AI to help me find the right codes and numbers). Unable to submit. Same problem with the autosigning software. Sigh. I'll get a fucking appointment in person and waste another morning on this. Nope. No appointments available. You have to log in on Friday morning at exactly 8am to reserve an appointment. The saga continues. And now I've spent 20 minutes writing about this insanity. TL;DR You need a PHD in administration to change your address in Spain. I do not have a PHD. I only have PTSD. Delete the bureaucracy. Delete the state.

It's been a year since I wrote this piece for @Anja | Bitvocation. The last 12 months in the Bitcoin space has been a whirlwind of sentiment changes, AI developments, and new tools. Realistically, if you want opportunities in the space, you have to build things or carve them out yourself, and that comes down to networking. Meeting people on video calls and in person is SO important. It builds trust and goodwill in a way nothing else can. With that said, there are almost infinite opportunities in Bitcoin because it's an undeveloped ecosystem with a lot of free real estate. Compared to industries with decades of growth in normieland, there are few people with deep skillsets outside of software development. Clients and coworkers are forthright.
