Just found out that Evan Wright committed suicide last year. Rewatching Generation Kill as tribute. My favorite miniseries of all time and easily among the best war media ever made. Topical too.

Lots of people complaining the world is on fire from their comfortable domicile in a peaceful setting. Past and present, many, many people, have actually woken up to their way of life literally ending. Most of us on Nostr don’t know shit about pain or suffering. Stop pretending your life is hard because you see something awful happening half a world away to others. It’s disrespectful to those who are really grappling with their world ending and it’s a waste of your good fortune.
