I build open-source, privacy-focused apps for anyone whose data is not for sale. I use AI tools to write the code, but do not include surveillance or invasive permissions. My apps are designed to work across platforms, making the switch to Linux phones easier when they're more available. (I'm a beginner in this, learning as I go. I'll start with publishing Flutter apps on Codeberg and Zapstore.)

The network effect works for protocols, tools of communication, like telephone, fax, internet, email, VoIP, Nostr, even languages themselves. It's a sneaky mistake to put a platform like Facebook in that category. It can be and is used for communication, but it's a service provided and controlled by a single company.

Got my first major pause in my project - Claude/Anthropic closed my account and refunded my payment. I haven't heard back yet on why or if they might reconsider. So I don't have access to the chat history, except in my memory. Even if they don't reinstate it, I'm off to an excellent start. I'm understanding more and more as I go, and would love to be working with something more private. @Maple AI has some coding models, just with much less ability to look at the overall project at once. I have HTML UI mockups of the screens I want and a robust architecture started in Flutter, using VS Code. Next is connecting in and building a #SQLite database to support it all. My understanding is #Shakespeare is for building website, not apps. If anyone has wisdom to share, I'm open! #vibecoding

I learned today Windows has an option to not let you "accidentally" hit the same key twice in a row. For users who never need to spell words with double letters, apparently. 🤷‍♀️

I'm thoroughly enjoying this first vibecoding process. Not time to show it to an expert yet, but it's looking like I have a solid foundation. It's fun to be able to tell when to pause and simplify whatever's getting messy, and when to slow down and build something out the right way. It helps to know the ins and outs of what I'm building very well, to know what the end functionality will need to be, and what's needed to make it happen. It's within my realm of expertise on the user side, just not on the coding side. I don't want to create messy AI slop. I want professional, efficient, maintainable code, using the best strategies to accomplish each purpose well. Staying humble... and getting excited! #vibecoding

Spending time on the internet pushes me to spend money. Spending time on Nostr pushes me to buy Bitcoin, and to build skills. Refreshing, healthy difference.

Inspired by folks here, after learning what I could about how to get started, I've been vibecoding this week! They say to start simple. I'm not... I'm building a powerful app I've wished existed for a long time, and have wanted to build before. I'm working on it piece by piece, starting with UI/UX, keeping the eventual backend functionality in mind. I understand databases and do a lot with software, but I've never written code or built my own tools before. We'll see how far I can get! If I get there, my goal is to share it on @Zapstore (and tell friends that's where they can get it)! If I really get stuck, pausing this project and working on one of my simpler ideas is always an option. I've been inspired watching @Tim build all kinds of things, @Derek Ross show people what's possible, and @Paul's helpful video showing how some of it works... Thank you! #vibecoding #claude #ai
