In management, there's something called the Peter Principle where employees are inevitably promoted to roles where they no longer are competent. I wonder if something like that exists with technology, where a technology will inevitably progress to a point where it sucks.

Y2K Amish. Civilization peaked in 1999
The fun thing about AI is that internet natives, those with fine-tuned skills to detect AI deepfakes, are rendered completely useless by Laura Loomer's face. Is it AI? Is it really that botched? Who knows!
Copper patina is beautiful and cherished, but SNES bromine discoloring is disgusting and off-putting. Seems like a marketing problem.
GM Nostr. My God, Peter McCormack please fix your pfp, what are you even doing?
Even if the Quake II 64 levels are complete ass, it's pretty cool the remaster gives you them as an option.
Reactivated my Bluesky account (mostly out of morbid curiosity) and I was suprised at how many old accounts I followed from Twitter still active over there. I still maintain Bluesky's entire reason for existing is now a lie, but, my feeds on prefered socials are somewhat lacking.
Playing through Quake II right now, basically the first time with the franchise. When Quake III Arena came out, were people disappointed? I was a UT99 guy. If Valve dropped "Half-Life 3 Arena" after all this time, I'd be pissed.
New idea: every Teams call I have today, whenever I need to unmute, I have Sandstorm playing in the background - just to see how long I can go before someone asks what the fuck is my problem.
Hoppe out of the Mises Institute...wow.
"LET ME ENJOY MY BOOMER SLOP!!!"
I yell to my kids as they complain about my music.
One of the most horrifying moments at work is when you ask the question, "so who is the expert on this stuff?", and then everyone in the room turns and looks at you.
Now, it does drive personal growth, good things come from this, but for that one moment, horrifying.
Today is going to be the stupidest fucking day on social media, across all platforms...
I've seen this pop up in a couple places, and I laugh at it every time. It really is the state of gaming these days...

My wife wanted to add HBO to our streaming services, but now I have to watch a bunch of things other than the Sopranos.
What's the point of HBO if you aren't rewatching the Sporanos?
I don't remember the dotcom bubble, but it would seem odd to me that people were hoping for it to pop leading up to the crash.
I'm waiting for the AI bubble to pop with excitement, 1. for the lulz, and 2. because I want AI to grow naturally and not in the fake way it has so far.
I bought my PS5 to play PS4 games (mostly). I'd probably be pissed at this gen if I bought it to play PS5 games.
Rob Schneider in his wackiest role yet - Rob Schneider in, "Gen-X Iran War Draftee".
Entering the world of mechanical keyboards. What switches do people prefer?
This is very consoomer of me, but I actually miss when tech was unveiled at shows and then people freaked the fuck out at their release. That was fun. Everything seems lame and incremental now.
In a world where Rokus, Firesticks, and Playstations exist, why are smart TVs still being made? Who is really asking for this? Just be a fucking monitor and add an extra HDMI port or something.
