At this point some people generally like Ross and his mom. They care on a personal level. 2. Ross' story touches on many issues that interest libertarians - cryptocurrency, freedom to transact, drug policy, internet freedom, the legal system as a whole. It is easy to rally around. 3. There is nothing the LP can do to help people struggling in this economy. Nothing, Zilch. Nada. It is a weak political entity and any claims that it can help people at large are either delusional or larping. 4. Politics is basically a game of getting your friends out of cages and putting your enemies in cages (substitute cage for private prison, exile, or woodchipper as you see fit). Ross out is a win for our side. Many of the people struggling to put food on the table aren't exactly on the friend side of the equation, so I don't care what matters to them.

Finished rewatching Boardwalk Empire. I think if I had to rank the seasons, it would go 2 > 3 > 1 > 5 > 4. Season 5 would have benefited from having 12 episodes like the others. Maybe Sopranos next.
