Learning the hard way, @strike that living entirely on a Bitcoin standard — zero fiat, direct deposit, bills paid through your app — might be more idealistic than practical. Not because of the sell fees on your end (though those are annoying), but because Bitcoin makes most of its gains in just 10-12 days a year. The rest of the time it’s flat or down — meaning you’re usually selling at a loss just to cover expenses. Bear markets? Just stupid as shit.

Gm @Jeff Booth any tips on how one could stop investing energy in the fiat system without going completely broke?

Dostoevsky’s Underground Man is a failed Stoic. He sees life’s absurdity, its repetition, decay, and suffering—but instead of accepting it and acting with purpose, he recoils in bitterness. He even calls it immoral to live past 40, the age when illusions die and self-awareness becomes a burden. A Stoic would embrace this knowledge and move forward; the Underground Man lets it paralyze him. Be the fool: embrace life, act with purpose, and only worry about what you can control. image
