I watched Terminator 2 over the weekend. Then listened through the commentary. Was fascinated to find where one of my favorite scenes came from.
James Cameron always strikes me as an egomaniac, but in this seemed very humble and was enjoyably informative.
In any event, he talked about the scene where Sara is on tape talking to the psych and he keeps assuring her everything is fine, what she believes is crazy, and her recurring dream is JUST a dream.
The conversation famously ends with Sara 'breaking down' and screaming "You're the one living in a fucking dream".
During the commentary he revealed how he was a teenager when he realized that the cold war was going on, that there was the possibility of nuclear war at practically any moment. And that EVERYBODY knew. He said he was astonished that the world around him was just casually going on with their lives rather than doing something or even SAYING something about it, and when he expressed concern they acted like he was the crazy.
This is how I feel anymore ANY time I talk to 'the straights' about; Government, currency, banking, 'terrorism', and frankly most any other thing.
If it's thanksgiving or something, I try to say it politely, but always make sure to let them know, that they are living in a fucking dream.
