Upgraded a few things in my editing workflow this weekend. Rode 50 miles today. Excited for a productive week.

The move is going to a square merchant and saying hey I only can pay with bitcoin. They will figure it out. Sparked a good conversation today too. image

GM. Nothing like a glorious night of sleep in your own bed after 5 weeks on the road.

I am currently experiencing one of the most hilarious and also insane experiences with traffic in my life. Washington state Department of transportation closed the highway for the weekend for construction, which they’ve been doing on and off for the last three years with the goal to add a toll lane. They are not even expanding the highway. So I got in my car and what is normally a 17 minute drive was supposed to be 32. Problem is, myself and literally thousands of other cars all trusted Google Maps, which shows the highway is open for several exits where it is not. So I’ve now been in the car for an hour and I’m still not even close to my destination. Peak sheep activity and I am part of it today!

Got the VIP treatment from TSA in Palm Springs this morning. “Random” search led to 30 minutes of pulling every single item out of my bag at a snail pace, swabbing everything… These people are just bullies, they don’t do anything to keep us safe. Kept my cool, was nothing but respectful. It was a good test of patience. Flight was already boarding by the time I made it to the gate. image

One takeaway from FinCon 2026: Finance people need to learn about bitcoin, and bitcoiners need to learn about finance.

Added a new tool to the tool belt this week- live-streaming. I’ve done live streams before, but not at this level of complexity, and never completely on my own. We had screen sharing, virtual guest, in person guests, all sorts of interstitial and music… Day, one was a little bumpy and stressful, but once I got the hang of it, it was a ton of fun and I learned a lot. After six weeks of intense work and travel I am heading home for some much-needed rest.

All last year during the bull market I said the hardest days for bitcoiners are ahead. At 100k+ we were posting screenshots of the price like we won or achieved something… I still think the hardest days are ahead. Our resolved will be tested, our Bitcoin will be targeted and potentially our safety will be put at risk. This is what a revolution entails. Unfortunately I don’t think it will be peaceful. But I’d rather it happen in my lifetime than my kids’.

More people have asked me how much bitcoin I have today at Fincon than all the bitcoin conferences I’ve been to combined. Funny that that’s the first question people have.

It’s tempting to start to automate and use Ai to post more on social media… Maybe I will one day but to date everything I’ve ever posted has been done manually, by me. There are no perfect solutions only trade-offs and the minute you start to use AI is the minute you sacrifice your authenticity.

If you think Bitcoin jargon was hard to pick up at first, try watching a12 year trader and finance guy do TA and riff on a livestream… The amount of knowledge and experience required to swim in the shark invested finance world is on another level. Running a livestream at Fincon was fun today, learned a lot… but also reminded myself why I love bitcoin. I don’t have to learn to trade or compete with the most sophisticated investors in the world.

“Hey I’m a bitcoiner but I never want to sell or spend my bitcoin…” Make it make sense 🤣 The HODLers are on the sideline, playing defense at best… The builders are in the game, using bitcoin, going on offense.

Just paid for my hotel in Medellin with bitcoin. Not only is there a discount but also early check in. Smart move by the owner. If you’re in Medellin it’s a great location with the number 1 coffee shop in Colombia on the lower floor. Nice view too image

That’s a wrap in Medellin! Yesterday was my last day filming for the @My First Bitcoin Bigger Than Bitcoin documentary series. Kenya, Czech Republic, Indonesia and Colombia. This year we visited four countries on four different continents to show how decentralized bitcoin education is actually impacting humans. What started in a hut with two students in El Salvador is now the largest bitcoin education organization in the world in over 40 countries with thousands of students graduating the bitcoin diploma. We need independent bitcoin education now more than ever. The road ahead is bumpy and the more people who understand bitcoin and plug it into their lives the better chance we have a free in humanity from fiat money slavery. If you believe in this mission join me in supporting MFB and participate in the bitcoin revolution!

I smoked a big tobacco cigarette last night and it’s wild how bad my throat feels this morning. I haven’t smoked a cigarette in probably 10 years, since college.

Comuna 13- Medellín, Colombia Absolutely one of the most unique places I’ve ever been. The history is dark but the future is bright. It’s pretty special to be here while bitcoin adoption is just getting started. A year ago there was no bitcoin adoption, today there are 30 merchants and growing. @My First Bitcoin

My talk from Bitcoin Asia Hong Kong: I was nervous and the PechaKucha format with the slides changing every 30 seconds was new to me, but it was a gift to share some of what I think is the most important message for bitcoiners today. Nostr will understand this talk more than X 👌
