Sovereign social media is here. First off, it will take a long time to fully move to more sovereign systems. No, not all your energy needs to be focused there, but it’s great to start. @theprimalwave is a great place to start. Once you create an account here, you’ll be able to access the entire ecosystem that is emerging. Primal will feel like a normal social media app and you don’t need to be techy to understand how to use it. . But there’s a profound difference in What’s going on under the hood. With primal and other Nostr apps, your content lives on multiple servers and anybody can create apps to view that content. And anyone can run the servers to distribute it. So nobody can stop it and there could be a 1000 apps to view the same content. It’s up to us to make a conscious shift to make this happen. Tag me on primal and I’ll send you some bitcoin as well. Paying a 'sat' to post a note How could that work on Nostr? The point of Nostr is decentralized, permissionless and free right? But, we've seen problems in the past with reply guy and bot's replying Could we have a client that charged a sat to post a note 📝 But it's centralised I hear you cry 😢 Yes, that is true and while it would still be free to post notes for free, the notes that had paid their 'sat's' worth, could be watermarked Thus standing them out from the others, proving their authenticity But who gets to keep the sats i hear you cry 😢 It's free and permissionless and open source to spin up a client, anyone can create a competing pay to play client The cream rises to the top This can create a value for value economy for the maintainer dev side and create revenue without using ads My 2 sats

Anyone hearing about miner centralisation would do well to read this quote about power law by @SwapMarket on @Stacker News 'A successful 51% attack will let the miners reverse payments and steal coins, but kill the trust in the network and crush bitcoin price. So the attackers gain nothing but a pile of worthless coins and useless hardware they cannot sell. And if they short shit ton of bitcoin before the attack they must be absolutely sure it works. This cannot be done stealthily, so others will see and have double motivation to thwart the attack, squeezing the shorts while saving the network and the value of their ASICs.
