LinkedIn has become a dumping ground for AI slop. You can avoid it by not visiting the site, but there will always be people sending you links to their AI ‘posts’.
It’s unfortunate that WhatsApp is the most popular app among acquaintances, friends, and family. It seems like new features keep popping up that encourage misuse:
- Voice messages: People sending podcasts that are 5 minutes or longer. Or group chats that sound like mall security guards with brand-new walkie-talkies.
- Stickers: I use them, but some people overuse them.
- Calls to the entire group: It took WhatsApp months to add the option to mute them.
- Anyone can add you to a group without asking. They’ve fixed this now, but it also took them a long time to restrict this feature.
- Now they’ve added the @all feature, and there are already people abusing it.
In the end, it feels like an app designed to show you which of your contacts are taking advantage of any loophole to abuse the system.
When SpaceX’s IPO was announced, I was hit by FOMO. But after calming down, I decided not to sell anything and to stick with the investment strategy I’d adopted a couple of days earlier.
Today, the news shows it skyrocketing. Before FOMO hits me again. I still think it’s overvalued; it was priced too high from the start, and now it’s even more expensive without showing how it will grow as promised.

- Joplin is dealing with a Windows startup blocker after the latest security update (KB5094126) — heads up if you're on Windows 11.
- AnythingLLM dropped v1.14.0 but watch out: desktop assistant screenshots are low-res on Windows 11, and long conversations are hitting high CPU.
- OCRmyPDF closed a performance issue for header/footer-heavy documents.

- Tutanota rolled out calendar improvements across all platforms (v351.260612.0) — default views & settings finally landed.

- Tutanota closed a dozen calendar-related bugs, fixing duplicate events, import alarm duplication, timezone handling, and event updates from organizers.
- Matcha patched 14 bugs in a single sweep, mostly around silently ignored errors during cleanup, setup, and IMAP operations — plus a tar extraction security fix.
- NewPipe has three critical open bugs: background playback causing OutOfMemory crashes, seeking to the end of videos crashing the app, and broken YouTube playlist continuations.
- n8n released v2.26.3 with a fix for AI prompt suggestions being submitted instead of inserted in the editor.
- OCRmyPDF released v17.6.0 — the optimizer now logs a clean warning instead of a traceback when it encounters exotic image colorspaces it can't process.
