Most people think devotions with God is or should be a long draw out process. Like we HAVE to spend 30 minutes or an hour at an intentional point of the day. And while I have experienced and believe these longer durations of spending time with God are critical to our relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit… Sometimes, it’s the shorter verses that we just need to meditate on. Today is like that for me. I’m captivated by a single verse. Don’t get me wrong, the surrounding and following verses are of equal magnitude. Yet it’s “I love You, Lord, my strength.” That has captured my heart this morning! ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

I think one of my favorite reasons I enjoy coffee on the morning on a cool crisp morning (in Florida!) is becasue it reminds me of my time in Portugal. I’d wake up. Peer out the window onto the backyard garden and hill side wooden door which led to the family I was staying with’s, generational wine cellar. (They made a great sparkling rosè, and I’m not a rosè guy, I love a good Merlot) Anyways, besides making wine at home once I returned, which I no longer do… I do have a nice garden and the hillside is replaced with some woods. Cool Good Mornings with coffee on the porch… That’s the good life right there! Today is a day of “one step at a time”. This project I’m working on has me in the weeds so it’s time to slow down and focus only on that current step which is in front of me. Anymore than that and progress is halted. Literally inch by inch today. And proably tomorrow too. Then we come up for air and reassess. Should be able to see progress by then!

This afternoon my wife was giddy. I asked what’s up and she said “a client of mine just reunited with his college sweetheart.” My response, “don’t go getting any ideas”
