The "crypto industry" can't boil as many swimming pools as Bitcoin. Proof of stake, airdrop, premine, corporate VC issued ICO tokens doesn't sound very industrial to me.

I'd argue the swimming pool, full of water, to put your dirty ass in for recreation is more wasteful than securing an open, permissionless, rules based scarce monetary system for the world... Considering how much water it uses. 🥴🤨 ... Especially if it's an above ground. It might actually be a better use for the water than it currently utilized for.
