Nostr is NOT a social network.
Nostr’s is a network of interconnected sovereignty respecting business apps.
Because end user sovereignty IS GOOD for business … simply replicating black box social apps alone will not make a successful Nostr app.
Eyeballs are not currency, on an open network of independent apps. Novel user content is what brings value and will differentiate apps on Nostr.
IRL businesses will pay app developers to have their data model integrated into (or harvested from) the public events published to Nostr. They will also pay to build black box apps alongside this network… and this is ok as well.
Because owning user data is more of a liability than a profit model, incremental off-loading of black box data onto the Nostr network will ALSO be a lucrative service that app developers can offer.
Nostr needs business apps, and businesses need the Nostr network.
Sovereignty IS the new profit model.
