IIRC, didn't have enough romex and no time to get more so I spliced what I had together at the 90. Probably would've been okay if I'd used wire nuts and tape instead of these things. image

Kay jewelers needs to expand to selling Romex wire. At least they staff their counters.

Listening to a deputy on the scanner complain to dispatch that one of the local traffic lights is taking 5+ minutes to change has me wondering if traffic lights are run by the same software as Walmart's self checkout machines. We need somebody to reboot the traffic lights! 😂

"Ronnie Van Zant was writing “back porch music”, and Lynyrd Skynyrd was featuring it in their live set, fifteen years before MTV Unplugged made it trendy. For example, take a listen to “Things Goin’ On”, a song that appeared on the Pronounced album fifty years ago. This acoustic performance of it on Q102 in Dallas March 24,1993 features current Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant plus two original Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarists, the dearly departed Gary Rossington and the late Ed King, the latter two who can be heard with me In the Studio for the story of the band’s Jacksonville FL carport days and subsequent first album. – Redbeard"

I bet there's a market for 3D printing gimmicky Bob Barker-style stems for all these fuzzy-headed lapel mics everybody keeps holding like they're talking into the backside of their pet guinea pig 🤣

Updated Amethyst and lost access to one of my favorites, but re-adding filter.nostr.wine seems to have fixed things. This relay stuff is confusing. View quoted note →

Had an interesting discussion with Grok that started as an inquiry into the smallest mobile devices capable of running desktop browser extensions and transitioned into a grim outlook for the future of desktop OS 'tinkerability?' largely due to the profitability of app stores and regulatory attempts to "protect privacy" and prevent money laundering. Sounds like you super nerds will be okay (many a slip between the cup and the lip) but the rest of us better get ready for basically iOS laptops. ☹️

If Amazon had to pay a penny every time it sent an email, they'd probably have to raise the price of a Prime membership to something like $90K a year just to break even 🤬

"Israel’s largest arms firm, Elbit Systems, is close to a £2 billion UK MoD contract training 60,000 British soldiers annually. Despite its central role in the Gaza holocaust, Elbit is set to become a “strategic partner” of the Ministry of Defence. Private Eye reports Elbit stacked its UK board with ex-MoD chiefs to help secure the deal."

"... installing a browser extension is something that a lot of ordinary people have never done." Not to mention that a growing segment of the population don't even own a device capable of installing a browser extension. The Bitcoin community often discusses the subject of being 'unbanked' but many of us in the developed world take for granted the luxury of having something as common as a mailbox for receiving snail mail, or having the PC at a public library be your only access to a desktop OS. @Guy Swann @Oscar Merry
