Had an early morning flight using Night Vision Goggles. Had to look at my iPhone and the NVGs pick up the IR camera flash for facial recognition. Reminded again that the phone is constantly taking IR scans of your face. The repetitive flash is smaller than the initial unlock flash but it never stops. Started wondering how many apps use this to know whether you’re smiling or frowning when using the app? At a minimum, Apple knows. Interesting rabbit hole.

Every kid in America should be able to walk to the park, by themselves, and play for hours without risk from criminals. Family income should have no bearing on the crime level of your neighborhood. That’s my politics and I’ll support whoever can impose it.

The idea that poor people can’t save long term is simply wrong. It’s just never been worth saving tiny amounts of depreciation fiat and investments required more than tiny amounts. Bitcoin changes this. When savings increase in purchasing power over time, it’s all of sudden worth trying to save even a couple days wages and push it into the long term future.
