Tonight, I returned to my old high school with my family, feeling a deep sense of gratitude as I was honored for my basketball career and inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. Walking onto that court after 20 years brought a flood of memories, but what hit me most was hearing my little girl from the stands say, “That’s my daddy! Go daddy go!” Her innocent pride nearly choked me up. As a scrappy teenager, I never imagined I’d come back to that gym and be in front of a packed crowd, with my own kids and family watching. Time flies. But my heart is whole.
