Even people who don't like European union interventions often say they like regulation of data roaming prices in Europe, it made roaming inside EU cheaper, you pay like at home.
I am not using an European operator, so I'm outside of this regulation. I pay somewhere around third to half of what you regulated people pay for both Europe and Americas.
Market gives better prices than regulators.

I like betting on prediction markets. I'm not betting on this one, I have no idea. And that is one of the best descriptions of why this fiat system is so shitty. The most important rate in the fiat economy and we have no idea, we'll see who has bigger dick, Trump or Powell. That's what it has come to.

Obvious things, but not considered:
1.) Psychopaths are evolutionarily tuned for climbing hierarchies. The ones that are successful can climb political hierarchies
2.) The selection criterion is not delivery, but inducing fear and talking about solution (with no connection to actually solving these "problems")
3.) People fall for it every time. They vote, they are disappointed.
4.) The things you are told to fear are usually not even a problem, and if they are, the psychopaths are not going to solve them.
5.) If someone's idea of solving a problem is to go shoot and bomb some people, you've been duped into a psychopath's power trip. He's not working for you, in fact, they are probably the only thing you should really fear.
Voting will not solve your problems, there are no good choices, learn to solve your problems yourself, or by buying the solutions on the market. Sometimes you have to move - either part of your life (wealth, production) or your whole body. Don't use anything controlled by power trippers from government (especially not their money).
This is the main thing to understand about the current world. Everything else flows from it.
Don't get invested in psychopaths' hierarchy shaking games. They don't work for you.
Pro tip: carry local fiat cash with you at all times. You can literally control reality around you with it, to some extent.

So simple, works like magic. Privacy preserving.
The problem is that when a state buys BTC, it doesn't magically become non-fiat. It will still be fiat, but its balance sheet will look better.
On the other hand, when (private) people stop using fiat and switch to BTC, the money printer magic trick stops working. The state will still print money, but nobody will want it, let alone hold it. Maybe people will earn fiat currency, but they'll immediately exchange it for BTC. This has a similar effect on the growth of consumer prices as pouring gasoline on a fire.
So the key isn't for states to start using Bitcoin, but quite the opposite - for Bitcoin to be used primarily by people and companies. That's the only way to take away the central bank's unfair privilege.
Of course, this won't ultimately prevent states from switching to BTC too - some have already figured this out. But the later this happens, the better. So if you're going to shill institutional adoption, better to focus on those treasury companies, even though having a UTXO with the ability to fulfill an unlock script is a far superior position for the future.
Yes, when states do have these strategic reserves, it temporarily pumps our bags. But we don't need it and if we're for it long term, it's better to avoid state adoption for as long as possible. Our bags will be more than fine, don't work. Nothing stops this train.

The first AI benchmark I like

Running the latest Android 16 based @GrapheneOS on Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Upgrade went smoothly. So far it seems a bit slower, but a bit nicer.
What features should I look for that would make my life better?
I've tried the desktop mode, which is a very cool feature, basically if you have monitor, mouse and keyboard, you can connect your phone and have a laptop / desktop like experience. Since these phones are getting quite powerful, it can be quite a good option. It should have window management and everything on a pretty secure OS.
I wasn't able to make it work. Out of box it just mirrors screen like with the old version. Even I turn on enable freeform windows on secondary screen, the prompt to mirror displays appears but it does nothing, even the mirroring does not work, although the monitor thinks it's connected and USB keyboard works. Has anyone successfully tried this on GrapheneOS?
What else is new and cool?

I had a horrible experience with Amazon (and thus Audible) a while back, they closed my account and I lost access to all books that I have not backed up (which were not many fortunately). Since I listen to audiobooks a lot (driving, loading dishwasher, walking, ...) and I prefer to backup and be DRM-free, I was looking for an alternative. I settled up with libro a while back already, but yesterday I realized I am buying so many audiobooks that the $14.95/month membership makes more sense than paying per book.
The books come in m4b format a mp3 in zip format. I use Smart Audiobook Player on GrapeheneOS and have previously used MP3books on iOS. You can also use their app if you want.
If you want to free yourself from overly controlling corporations and be able to listen to audiobooks you paid for without permission, I highly recommend it:

Wow, this looks amazing:
2B and 4B model (but the 2B in q8 is over 4GB, so I’m not sure exactly what they mean by that). Anyway, it’s a multimodal model for end-user devices like mobile phones. It understands images, text, audio, and video!
If you have little RAM and you only want text, then you don’t load the vision and audio parameters.
And you can keep those PLE parameters outside of RAM on fast storage.
Meaning, on the phone’s flash storage.
(Thanks to @stick for explanation).
