"Hey so this is really nice. Well-written, cool idea ... Only read the first 5 pages, but I like it and am drawn in. Very interested to see critical examination of Bitcoin instead of outright reverence." This is a first reaction of one of Pegged's beta readers. If interested, let me know and I will be very happy to send you a draft of act 1. #betareading #proofreading #editing #writing #reading #thriller #peggedsaga

Excellent piece, as always. There seems to live some kind of impatient entitlement not to suffer. The notion of fate is completely obscured by the question: why is nobody managing my specific mode of pain? The latest illusion is that AI might take care of that ...

Excellent essay. However, the real innovation is blockchain of which bitcoin was the first instantiation. The fundamental shift this technology provides is the irrevocability of contracts. This is the "moral" and social innovation of blockchains: the introduction of objective constraints in human action.

With Mr. @HODL's profile headline is "A new world is struggling to be born." I agree. However, we're not singing from the same hymn sheet. Mr. @hodl has a continuity perspective. The "new" world will probably look similar to our's and the transition will be gradual by hodling bitcoin, he surmises. This worldview doesn't resolve oppositions, but perpetually postpones their settlement. The State expects transparency from its citizens, but feels entitled to not provide transparency about it's operations. Reversely, the citizen expects transparency from his/her institutions, but doesn't get it and is hence reluctant to provide personal data. This is a question of mutual trust #bitcoin is unable to provide an adequate answer to.

What if a stablecoin didn’t need collateral, seigniorage, or control? Pegged issues money through cryptographically fair draws. No upgrades. No admin keys. Just structure and chance. Read the white paper: a launch-and-forget protocol for redistributive, stable currency. Feedback very welcome! #lottonomics #peggedprotocol #cryptothriller #peggedwhitepaper #dwar

A quote from "Pegged" catching Alias' rant on how managerialism ruins apps. "They’re built as perpetual money machines, engineered for endless upgrades, subscriptions, and feature creep. Every update adds friction, every redesign extracts a little more. What could be simple tools become unusable labyrinths, serving investors and managers instead of users." Pegged, act II

FIVE FUNDAMENTAL REASONS WHY PUBLIC BLOCKCHAINS FAIL TO DELIVER DECENTRALISATION 1. SHORTCUTTING. Centralization is cheaper and faster for coordination. Institutions already control infrastructure, compliance, and liquidity. Public #blockchains are slow, costly to coordinate at scale, and socially fragile without shared incentives. 2. LAZINESS. Users trade sovereignty for convenience. Most people do not want to manage private keys, verify chains, or operate nodes. They prefer custodial wallets, exchanges, and #banks—creating a natural pull toward central hubs. 3. CAPTURE. Liquidity and regulation favor big players. Capital pools, fiat on/off ramps, and regulatory approval flow to large, centralized intermediaries. #Institutions can consolidate control where network effects and legal clarity exist. 4. CRITICAL MASS. Decentralization is hard to sustain socially. Public blockchains distribute technical #authority but not necessarily governance or influence. Mining pools, validators, and DeFi platforms quickly accumulate power, reintroducing hierarchy. 5. HABIT MARKETING. Narrative vs. practice. While blockchain is marketed as “trustless,” in practice, adoption has followed the familiar logic of centralizing around trusted #brands and scalable #custodians. This doesn't look good ...
