🇱🇧 #Lebanon - 🇮🇱 #Israel: The IDF has continued shelling the city of Tyre for the past several hours. Israeli media also reports that since 10 PM yesterday, the military has carried out airstrikes and other operations across more than 12 municipalities in southern Lebanon, including Souwaneh, Touline, Choukin, Shaqra, Haboush, Bint Jbeil, Burj Qalaway, Yatar, and Ansar. Meanwhile, Israeli forces have reportedly captured and occupied the 900-year-old Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon. The site, which had been under Hezbollah control since 2003, is considered one of the few medieval fortifications that still retains military significance in modern warfare due to its strategic location. Although UNESCO granted the castle enhanced protection status during the 2024 Lebanon War, the site was nevertheless damaged by Israeli strikes. Footage released today appears to show Israeli forces around the remains of the fortress, while smoke can be seen rising after the IDF shelled the castle.

🇺🇸 #US: FBI agents shot and killed a bank robbery suspect on May 28th in Chicago’s West Garfield Park after boxing in a vehicle linked to a violent bank robbery in the Lawndale area. Agents deployed flashbangs during the operation before the suspect allegedly opened fire from the vehicle. FBI agents returned fire, killing the suspect at the scene. 🇨🇭 #Switzerland: Three people were reportedly stabbed moments ago at a train station in Winterthur, near Zurich, after a man allegedly attacked several passersby with a knife. Police later arrested the suspect, identified by local media as a 31-year-old Swiss man. According to Swiss newspaper Blick, eyewitnesses stated that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the incident. 🇪🇸 #Spain: Massive anti-government protests have erupted in Madrid, where tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered during the so-called “March for Dignity” to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez amid a series of corruption scandals. Protesters carried Spanish national flags and banners reading “Resignation of the Socialist Mafia” as crowds marched through the capital. The demonstrations also come after a Spanish court announced an investigation into former Socialist Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero over alleged influence-peddling and money laundering. At least seven police officers were injured in clashes with protesters according to officials. (via Reuters)

🇺🇸 #US: Footage shows the US Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma during an operation last week in which three suspected drug-smuggling vessels were intercepted approximately 90 miles off Cartagena, Colombia. According to the Coast Guard, a helicopter fired at the vessels in an attempt to compel them to stop. Following the operation, authorities reported the seizure of approximately 6.085 pounds of cocaine, with a value of around $45 million. Meanwhile, last week also saw additional "counter-narcotics operations" in the region. The Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S), working with troops from Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama, coordinated a multi-national tracking operation that led to the interception of a narco-aircraft and the seizure of 636 kg of cocaine by Mexican ground forces. The aircraft was reportedly tailed from Tenosique and seized in the Las Palmas ejido, in Balancán. The aircraft can be seen in the last two attached pictures.

🇮🇪 #Ireland / 🇵🇸 #Palestine - 🇮🇱 #Israel: Dr Margaret Connolly, sister of Ireland’s President, was detained by Israel following Monday’s interception of several aid flotilla boats attempting to deliver humanitarian supplies to Gaza. Furthermore, footage circulating online also shows other activists from the flotilla being detained and escorted through a holding facility, where they are seen kneeling with their hands tied behind their backs while being dragged away in several stress positions. Among those seen in the footage is Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is also a far-right figure, who appears to mock several of the detainees while waving a large Israeli flag near the restrained activists. He can be heard speaking in Hebrew, saying: “Welcome to Israel. We are the masters". He is also seen near security personnel as they restrain and push down a female activist. (via BBC)
