So long MTV (no commercial, 80s version). You kept me company many all-nighters in college. You introduced me to Stevie Ray Vaughn and The Psychedelic Furs, among too many others to name. I fell hard for you then. The spell was broken when you ditched your VJDJ-narratives and no-ad format for the stupor-inducing game shows like Singled Out. You had a good run. Wish you had not grown so caustic and derivative.
