Barrels, big turns, and hitting the lip @macaronis_resort is what the @jsindustries99 Big Horse is made for!
@brettbarley took the 6’0 Tier 2 for Greenbush but surfed it at Macaronis one day and was blown away with how much he liked it on that wave.

“After six years of traveling the world documenting a handful of my closest friends, I’m stoked to finally have a trailer.
“It’s hard to sum up what this film means to me in an Instagram caption. This project took everything, time, energy, patience and a lot of emotion. It’s a true labor of love: fully independent, grassroots, built with plenty of blood, sweat, and tears. Some of the most core memories I have in my life took place during the filming of this project, and for that I’m so grateful.
“The film began in 2020 during the pandemic with Noah Wegrich and myself, without a clear plan beyond wanting to make something honest, something we could stand behind and feel proud of.
“I always feel a mix of nostalgia and heaviness when finishing a project of this scale. But as a friend once told me, this is when the film enters its next chapter, sharing it with friends, family, surf enthusiasts, and anyone willing to sit down for an hour-plus surf flick.
“We’ll be premiering up and down the West Coast from late February through early April, then heading to the East Coast and Europe in the fall, ahead of its release at the end of next year. Massive thank you to every friend who helped film along the way, and to all the surfers involved who trusted me enough to put their own time and money into this project. Grateful beyond words!
“Tickets for upcoming premieres are available on the landing page in my bio.”- @perrygershkow
The Shootout’s longboard division is a window into the earliest days of Pipe in the 1960s, when surfers took on this reef with heavy single fins. The modern shortboards we ride today trace back to the “Pipeliners,” as shapers in the ’70s began refining boards to match the steep curves of the Banzai.
Thanks for the show today, @dahuiofficial and @huioheenalunorthshore.

🌊 Forecast update: Really pulsey swell on Buoy 01 the last ~12hrs. Jumping between ~3@17 up to 6@16. Also reading as very west at times (280-300), so some Kauai shadow.
Couple of the biggest readings were at 8-930pm (last night) and then 1-4am this morning. That’s about 11 hours out at this swell period/direction, so should be seeing some pulsey sets. There’s lots of sand on the reef from all the north swells lately. Today is more west and should help to clear it out before the weekend.

@kwallissurfline breaks down the forecast for the @dahuiofficial Backdoor Shootout in loving memory of Duke Kahanamoku. Stay tuned for the call if it’s ON tomorrow at the Banzai Pipeline. @huioheenalunorthshore 🤙
“2026 we’re just gonna freaking do it, just do it! Don’t say no! “
Like we wrote in our Hawaii Winter Outlook, the trend this season has leaned more northerly, with an abundance of north and northwest swells.
@haydenrodgers_1 doesn’t mind.
Read the link in our bio for what’s happening in the jet stream and what cooler-than-normal temperatures along the equatorial Pacific mean for surf.
There was a window of surf on the North Shore today from 11-3 and @mitchell.peterson_ made the most of it.

“The wind went offshore and the rain stopped and it was absolutely cooking.
This set came in and I was just in the perfect spot for it! I put my head down and paddled as hard as I could. As I was dropping in the wave was drawing so much water off the reef, I pulled up into it and the thing was so big and round and I was just pumping and then it sucked in and everything went white and it just blew me out.”

@jsindustries99 recommends to ride an all-rounder in conditions like these.
Cape Cross sits beside one of the largest fur seal colonies on Earth. Access to the ocean here is tightly regulated to protect wildlife.
Mind surfing the wave from shore is the closest you can get. Last weekend, 📱 @luhanbruwer watched Cape Cross do its thing.
Do you know of any other waves off-limits that are this good?
This might be one of the coolest surfing clips we’ve ever seen. @santimedeiro in an electric blue ocean under a blood red sky.
Bioluminescence is light produced by microscopic ocean organisms, most often dinoflagellates.
When waves break or a surfer moves through the water, they trigger a chemical reaction that releases a brief blue glow.
It’s a defense mechanism, likely meant to startle predators or draw attention to them.
But if you’ve ever surfed in bioluminescence, it’s a feeling you’ll never forget.

Big tidal swings to start the New Year.
Today wasn’t a normal First Wave Project day.
We almost never take requests. We only meet strangers on the street because the surprise is the story. But a friend of Tuesday’s reached out and told us about a mother who grew up in Hawai‘i and is now fighting terminal brain cancer. She came home with her five kids hoping to create some beautiful memories together.
We immediately agreed to take them, but we told them we didn’t want to film it. This didn’t feel like something to turn into content. For us, it was purely about loving on this family and giving them a small bit of light during a really heavy season.
Their friend later shared that the video would actually mean the most to Tuesday and that awareness could be a beautiful part of this story. After a lot of conversation as a team, we decided that if this video could help bring love, awareness and support to this family, then we could see it being okay to share. Even so, it was a hard decision for us.
We are not posting this for views. We are posting in the hope that we can come together as loving humans and surround this family in whatever way feels right to you.
If this video moves you, the GoFundMe link is in our bio.
Thank you for helping us honor a family that reminded us what real strength looks like and childlike faith, even when things aren’t going your way 🤍

A flipped @wsl schedule for 2026 means CT surfers like @kanoaigarashi won’t return to competition until April. The season no longer opens at Pipe, but finishes there.
During the extended offseason, Igarashi tried snowboarding for the first time, stopped home to pick up a new quiver from @jsindustries99, and is now in Puerto Rico, sharpening his skills ahead of the season.
