10 days after the last good rain. The desert is greening and blooming up everywhere... Redflower known as occotil or Adam's rib, yellow flower is known as Palo de arco and the latter pink flower is Coral Vine or San Miguel (saint Michael) as it's commonly known locally. San Miguel is a vine that grows incredibly fast and covers the desert cactus and succulents so much it looks tropical everywhere it grows. 3 year old fence is growing. The new branches shooting up, longest on right has orange survey tape I used to tie it back, guess ill use wire. The green vines are loofah and the thick grass is mulching 3 palms that are growing fast now. Grasses showing up all over now, hopefully it'll rain more today. Melons popping up and growing really fast. I use antlers to protect from coyotes and badgers Yesterday we had a little soaker for only half hour. Humidity is really high and thats what these dormant desert plants thrive on. #permaculture #homesteading #gardening #offgrid

One of my little Moringa trees is putting out the seed pods. Appeared last week but the speed at which they grow is amazing. Moringa is known as the "tree of life" with incredible proteins and medicinal properties in the leaves, seeds, roots and flowers. They seem to grow well here but a little slower growth due to winds. Hopefully these seed pods will germinate into many more. I think this will be a good future crop here for all . Have a happy hump day🤙 #permaculture #homesteading #gardening #offgrid

Been raining off and on all night. Rain can be pain. I'm loving the rains but due to the sudden pressure changes from hurricane Lorena passing by I have much more arthritis pain. Why is it people with arthritis can tell its about to rain, from the pain in their joints? I understand the gases in our joints don't equalize as fast and that causes the inflammation. Not sure if thats accurate but I feel like a live barometer. Now the rain, with little wind, has arrived, the pain is disappearing, pressure no longer changing fast. 🌨Helps keep me connected to nature and weather.🤙 Saludos

Well, the forms are off, excavating away and already dropped over halfway. Tomorrow reassemble form and pour next ring on top. #permaculture #homesteading #Offgrid #gardening

1st ring of many poured and tomorrow the excavation begins and pull forms drop ring and reinstall forms, repeat possibly 30-40 times to get the depth needed. The rungs of ladder are set so form has slots that allows us to pull it off and block again for new ring. It's a high tech, hand dug well. #permaculture #homesteading #Offgrid #gardening
