Been busy busy getting this IBC wicking bed made. Never done one and as I researched them it seems many dont put wicks in but I did as you can see. Some cotton wadding and some geo tested cloth like I used to seperate soil n water. Then I placed peat moss perlite mix around them and filled in with soil mix.. I put in 25lbs peat moss 125lbs soil 30lbs organic fertilizer 30lbs compost And I'll probably add another 30 to 40lbs. I dug a couple of holes and left them for the night to see if there was wicking action. Photo of wet hole and small transplant. Plenty of wet soil below. Should be fine for what I'm growing.

I'll be back in a few weeks to harvest more pads. They also have shared many other species like dragon and passion fruit that I'm planting this morning. #coffechain #homesteading #regenerativeag

Planting my new solar field of Nopal cactus, planted parallel to contour for capturing runoff. Planted 15 so far with small shovel full of sand and perlite. Hopefully little to no irrigation necessary. Planting another 35 in other locations to test different soils. #permaculture #energy #regenerativeag

Blooming cactus from just a few hours of rain the other day. Have a great weekend, get some nature🤙

Finally got the tire off, (real pain for months) my old pick up, only to put the spare on and find it flat in the morning. That's 5 flat tires repaired or replaced in a week. 2 dead batteries as well. How do you say you have too many vehicles, without saying it? Problem is the sun on rubber n heat on batteries, life in the desert. Tractors and work trucks you need them when you need them but then they just sit around.
