Do not take the bait of engaging with Mike Brock. He’s a bad faith actor. He’s come to nostr to blast many of us, apparently. He’s a smart guy, I’d use to say he was my friend, but he gave up on Bitcoin and freedom tech like nostr because he doesn’t like some of the people that use it and can’t separate that from the underlying tech and freedom uses. He took it too far and personal with me. I said I’ve opted out of current system and politics (although in practicality that isn’t 100% true I’m just very skeptical and pissed at it all) and I’m working to build parallel systems and see freedom go up around the world (including the U.S.). He’s written lovely articles that include me and making assumptions akin to me supporting (whether directly or install) Nazis and fascists. Just fair warning.

It’s hitting me again in this chapter of Bitcoin adoption we find ourselves in why so many continue to be militantly against Bitcoin (even ones you may say they *should* be for it! Like I used to say about progressives). If you believe the state is redeemable and that government, central banks, politicians, etc are capable of handling money, rights and freedoms, then you see no need for Bitcoin. In fact you may ideological or quite literally fight against something like Bitcoin because you fear it means: 1) you’re wrong about your assumptions of government and central banks being the best and honest actors for money 2) you fear advocating for or support of bitcoin will destroy your notions of government and banks and do not want to see this happen And many working against Bitcoin view it and Bitcoiners as a threat to the status quo, and as I’ve said before many go so far as to suggest we *want* governments and central banks to fail. This is not the case at all. We just have eyes and ears, follow incentives, and are highly skeptical (based on historical events 100% of the time) that they are the best actors to be in charge of money and permission-based structures. We say even if governments improve, it’s not worth the risk of asking permission and trusting they won’t constantly steal, change the rules, and prevent us from transacting. We are building parallel structures because the current ones have been failing and the only way they continue is if more and more power is taken from the people and centrally concentrated to the government (and banks). No thanks!

I can’t really hide or pretend that I can define the mission, scope and uniqueness of Bitcoin without invoking anarchism Bitcoin (really Bitcoiners, right?) believing and saying things like opt out, peaceful revolution, rules not rulers, is entirely within and complementary to an anarchical framework and worldview In society today both Bitcoin and anarchism have terrible connotations for normies. As a vegan on a plant based diet, I like this chart. Instead of meat and dairy I just substitute that with the following: Lentils, chickpeas, black beans, tofu, tempeh, edamame. Tons of healthy fast with avo and olive oil. (And yes I take supplements)

I’m of the school of thought we should oppose totalitarian regimes no matter the flavor (right left etc) And at this point, I’ve seen so many failure from right and left in this regard — against life, liberty, privacy, property, freedom, etc That my default is anarchism. The govt cannot and should not speak for or lead us.

The division X and Elon amplifies via its algorithm is deeply deeply worrying. Especially after the ICE event in Minnesota where a woman was killed. X (and our political leaders on there) are strategically making this division all the much worse. Deeply concerned for America, our division, and more violence to come.
