The more we build up government reliance, the harder the crash and fall will be for Americans and those around the world that rely on U.S. government funding, with its ever changing political winds and the house of cards it’s built on. Less ability to be self sovereign and financial free, and more reliance on the government to live. It’s a shame. A horrific shame. I’ve tried to talk to my progressive friends about how terrible a situation this is, and how bitcoin as resistance money is the only way (they don’t trust the Trump admin/government, but yet they continue to want to advocate for policies that expand the federal government and dependence on it in every facet of life, especially direct UBI and healthcare l??!$) You can’t claim you’re part of the resistance, or fighting for a better world for everyone, if you continue to support an increase in central, federal govt control and coordination over every part of life including healthcare, housing, UBI (which of course comes with mass surveillance and social credit score), labor, and an ability to save money/capital. Modern progressives are not liberal and often times hold pretty un-American, anti liberty and freedom views — led by academics and politicians who gaslight and mislead them.

I think NGU more when you actually show and prove to people that bitcoin is way more than just digital gold and a dumb rock. When that clicks…Bitcoin for literally everyone will be seen as insanely undervalued

The U.S. government budget is far too large, and spent on far too much stupid shit Deficit spending is far too much They print far too much money We are taxed too much (for what “gains”?) And corporations expect bailouts and govt assistance far too often More and more people will be asking…is the cost of money printing to the slow degradation of society worth it? And then, is the pain of coming off this standard and expectation also worth it? I think it’s time to start figuring out what’s next in this post-post-modern, technology, AI, and yes Bitcoin future.

Artists and musicians (even major, mainstream ones) used to be revolutionaries. Not afraid to take risks, take a stand. Now they’re all risk averse, sheepish. What happened? For instance, Nina Simone was a rockstar and revolutionary. She once said “An artist’s duty, as far as I’m concerned, is to reflect the times.” She did that, paid the price often, but kept at it.

This cuts to the heart of what’s happening. Loss of trust. It’s real, it’s here. Deny it or dismiss at your own peril. “At some point, we will realize that the only way out is through, but that requires escaping the clutches of this late postmodern moment we find ourselves in”

I continue to use nostr to flesh out ideas in real time. For a while this has been the case, but I want to express the following. If I’m being intellectually honest, I can’t call myself a progressive anymore. Labels (such as that one) are tools. When a tool no longer describes your thinking, you don’t owe it loyalty. I don’t fit with that group anymore. I’m more in the left libertarian/anarchism camp for sure. And the modern progressive movement has gone far more faith in technocratic regulation, redistribution via bureaucracy, “expert”-driven solutions, moral language without material empowerment, than ever before. I don’t believe in its solutions, or its leaders. Progressives used to be hyper focused on anti-war, occupy, and suspicion of concentrated power. Now it’s like the opposite. For the record, I didn’t move right, I didn’t stop caring. I just stopped outsourcing my ethics and what I’m supposed to say or believe to institutions I no longer trust. I think more of us should do this, whether the “right” or the “left.” That’s not regression imo, that’s maturity and following my intuitions as I navigate life and its social complexities.

Critics of bitcoin and Bitcoiners often will say things like “Bitcoiners say don’t trust, they say they don’t want government money. They want the system to collapse! They want chaos!” Some will even argue it’s worthy of persecution as treason — a thought crime, like 1984 of you will. Bitcoin and those who advocate for it as a new system aren’t about that at all. It’s about building parallel systems that reduce exposure to state violence a corruption today. That’s it. The corrupt actors are fighting against this at all costs, realize that. They’ll point the finger at you, at me, but never themselves and the corrupt system they benefit from.

Magic internet money from a pseudonymous internet person is still here after 16 years, governments and some of the largest companies in the world are even adopting it lmao Sometimes you have to pinch yourself and be like is this real life? Is this shit really working and people using it? And even some governments are like yeah ok. Holy shit, that’s wild 😂

Gold and silver ripping make important goods cost more (especially tech and industrial) When Bitcoin rips….goods don’t cost more. It’s an excellent money/store of value. The “no intrinsic value” is exactly the point.
