@Alex Gleason @Derek Ross both of you are nostr tech pioneers right? I think there is an unsolved problem with nostr livestreaming, anyone should be able to do it with just a browser for free in a way that can scale. So I was wondering if something like

nostrfied would work as a protocol. Someone streams directly in their app / browser to a webrtc room, the viewers help seed the content to make it scale. Infra wise that can hopefully be very lightweight so that anyone can put up a basic webrtc server to facilitate it.

This makes me so upset.

Controversial opinion time since I enjoyed grinders streams before but am very principled on the anti censorship stuff. To me what jb55 did is not incorrect. And heres my take on it. 1. Transparency matters a lot to me. I hate it when things get censored so openly sharing who tried that has value to me. 2. There is this whole thing about doxing who is behind a handle but in my opinion jb55 did not do this by publishing the email verbatim. Grinder did this by putting his own handle next to the name. This was not neccesary I don't think. But heres the important 3. Lets say grinder had not included his handle, then what? [Redacted] did a takedown request? Then we don't know who is responsible. So to judge this objectively replace grinders handle and name with "Nintendo". If it was nintendo trying to take info down from here and he published everything verbatim. Would you have cheered? I would have. So I have to be objective that I want a relay op to publish take down requests because that is always what I would have wanted. Me enjoying grinder stream on this platform does not change that. Its unfortunate but I just can't logically consider this wrong. It would be inconsistent with my views on this, inconsistent with me cheering on when pirate bay does it, and inconsistent with me cheering it on if its Nintendo, Disney or the UK government. To only part here that feels controversial is that it was a popular user. But had this been an outsider nobody would be against. Nostr is a platform that is intensely censorship resistant. Even if this takedown had worked there are so many relays left i'd still have seen it, by design.

Its now been 6 months that manjaro doesn't even boot on my system. It used to be my go to distro I strongly recommended. Now its unusable. Nothing else I like, but been happy on Windows for a while now. Windows is a really good OS still when you strip it of everything that makes it shit. Win10 LTSC + my custom tweaks and startisback and its still going strong.
