🎻 Here is my improv to @npub1klrl...7dr5's word “Liars.” It’s an improv turned mini-composition and video art piece! I did a little video and audio editing to capture the image I had in mind for “Liars” — something like: “Not all is as it seems, they whisper their lies in the dark.” Creative license! 🌙✨ And now… I’ve added something new to the Wednesday Improv Game. There were two other great words from @Stacking Functions and @Grace and Truth , and it seemed a shame to let them go to waste. So now, words that don’t win the improv game will be added to the “Encore List”. The Encore List works two ways: 1. It’s a bank of inspiration I can draw from for any future video. 2. If you repost the Wednesday Improv Game video and comment “Encore!”, I’ll play something from the Encore List — either immediately or the very next day. It’s both an archive of ideas and a game we can play together. I hope that’s not too complicated! We’ll figure it out together. Who’s calling for the next encore? 👀⚡️

18th note: 🙏 Thanks so much for all the love on yesterday’s Looney Tunes melodies — and thanks again to @Melody for the amazing suggestion! Lots of new ideas came up in the comments, and I’ve added them to my list for future posts. 💜 Today I’m sharing another favourite fiddle tune, this one from Cape Breton Island. It’s called “The Last March” by John Morris Rankin. It’s one of the most beautiful melodies I’ve ever heard — and I’m not sure if that’s because of its intrinsic beauty or because of the story behind it. As it goes… Rankin died tragically in a car accident around the age of 40. When people went to his house afterwards, they found this new tune sitting at his piano, The Last March. 💔 It’s such a gorgeous and heartbreaking tune that it makes you wonder — did he know he was going to die? Or is it just a mysterious coincidence? 🎻 Here’s my version of The Last March. What’s a piece of music that hits you with both beauty and sadness at the same time? 17th note: 🌟 I’m about two weeks into my Nostr journey — the first week was a huge, exciting welcome from this community, and the second week was a little quieter but filled with meaningful connections and conversations. 💜 Yesterday, I shared Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and asked about childhood songs… and @Melody came up with the Looney Tunes music! 🎶 So here’s a short clip of two themes from Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes — the ones that would play right before a cartoon with the classic red Warner Brothers/Looney Tunes background. 🌀 Melodies for Melody 😁 It’s wild revisiting this music — it’s 100% fully orchestral! 16th note: GM and Happy Monday! A little throwback today — ⭐️Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star ✨ I recorded this while busking last week…. This version of the song has the main tune followed by an “obligato” variation — the cool part is that the two parts can be played together like a duet 🎻🎶 I used to play it this way with my mom when I was a kid, but I’ve hardly played it since then! It’s funny the music that comes out when I’m just playing for a couple hours in a row. 💜 Do you have a song that brings you right back to childhood?
