Driving down a country lane to visit relatives, I noticed a derelict motor garage, which turned out to have some lovely colours and textures among the stonework and corrugated iron.

I recently bought a gel plate to experiment with abstract acrylic painting and I have to say I see huge potential in this medium, especially when using iridescent or metallic acrylics. It's a perfect loose, expressive method for someone like me who loves abstract art.
I suspect I will use a lot of paper and ink before I settle on a style and technique I'm happy with, but that's the fun bit.
