I was thinking today what a valuable tool the simple hashtag #asknostr is. What other way of asking a question is there, in the absence of many critical thinkers in one’s day to day life, where you can get opinions and answers from people who share many of your philosophical underpinnings about sovereignty, privacy and freedom? I can think of none. In the hundreds of people I come in contact with in a month, I still have only one person IRL at this moment in my life that really “gets it”. Yet here, there are scores of us. I’m not saying we are not all as fallible as anyone else, but philosophical alignment is worth so much when seeking answers and opinions on questions that matter. #grownostr

True. And highly zappable. Alas, error fetching LN invoice. Bookmarked. Yes it’s one of the things I love about your show and your approach. It’s rejecting all that’s wrong with the algorithm driven socials spaces. Rage bait. Elitism. Vomit summoning thumbnails. Ads. Wannabe inflooencoor vibes. Instead, approachability, humility, genuine interest in stories and lessons to be shared by people a step removed from algo-made “thought leader” status. The result: high signal. Low noise. Interesting, informative content. And not feeding the beast. View quoted note →

It’s actually staggering, in terms of your body’s readiness for sleep, when you prevent blue light from entering your eyes a couple hours before bed. I’m sold. #lighthealth #circadianhealth

I guess I’m pretty spoiled and selfish. Or maybe just disillusioned. Or entitled by thinking what I witnessed my father’s generation achieve was what I might expect if I kept my nose to the grindstone. Or maybe I’m incapable of feeling satisfied. What I’m feeling is not very becoming of a husband, father and a provider. But right now, I would rather see the complete implosion of the financial system, the grid and basic social order than face one more day in economic purgatory in dead end, overtaxed employment with zero ability to plan and dream beyond what things I can achieve with $100 discretionary biweekly cash or by going deeper into high interest debt. At least in a crisis I’d be able to put to use the things I’ve trained and prepared for all these years. A chance to be a hero and imminently important to those around me. A chance for brotherhood and joint struggles that have real meaning. I’m so fucking sick of hearing how lucky I am while watching Liberty die a slow death and watching everything my family works for be stolen. Sick of making others rich and accepting them not honouring their contracts, while I see my family’s best option for economic escape flatline due to market manipulation and macro forces. I want to be free. I want to BE more, not have more. Men weren’t made for a slow fading away and 90 years of unremarkable life. We were meant plan and build and deploy capital, and barring that, to fight and die liberating others to do so. I appreciate what I have, but I’m fucking pissed. The whole thing has been a lie. I can’t be the only man who is feeling this right now. There. Got that off my chest. Now back to being a nice, reliable worker bee and productive member of society. Have a good week. Opt out where you can, and practice noncompliance at every turn. 👊🏽 image

Unlike my parents, I’m aware of the importance of a financial education. A basic understanding of the monetary system. It’s obviously important, because our monetary system has a direct impact on one’s ability to benefit from the value they add to their country and their community. Literally everything is downstream of money. But I really question sometimes if the lessons I’m trying to impart to my kids are sinking in. In my early 20’s, I was intensely interested in the markets, investing, global trends and technology. But in this highly distracted generation, I don’t see the hunger for knowledge that I had, let alone these kind of nerdy topics. I guess all a parent can do is provide the information and repeat the lessons in different ways, and hope that part of it “sticks”. What ways do other Bitcoiner parents try to stress the importance of opting out and not being trapped in the matrix any more than necessary? #asknostr
