There have been countless posts about Bitcoin 2025 being a stablecoin/altcoin/web3 conference, that it didn't have the same spirit or had lost the ethos of Bitcoin. Part of it is the widespread adoption of the asset. But another truth of the matter is Bitcoiners alone have proven they are not willing to part with their sats and it takes Bitcoin to put on these events. Hell, look at any time spend and replace gets brought up. There used to be Unconfiscatable held here in Vegas which was pretty much pure Bitcoin signal. In the end, organizers couldn't get speakers because they wanted paid like they were elsewhere, Bitcoiners didn't want to part with Bitcoin to buy tix, so on and so forth. So next time you parrot this, or you see your favorite OG Bitcoiner bring it up, it may be time to pull out a mirror and ask if you're part of the problem or interested in being part of the solution. Bitcoin 2026 is coming back to Vegas and it would be VERY EASY to run a parallel Bitcoin-Only event in Old Vegas if enough people actually wanted to make it happen.

Post Steak 'N Shake Meatup: I spoke to the suits there briefly about Nostr and got stonewalled again. Several "that's really cool" but in the way dad says it dismissing his teenage son. You can tell they just don't grok the power of Bitcoin let alone Nostr. What's frustrating is you know they have a social media team and could just copy and paste what they shoot out on other platforms. I tried... but I digress. Only had one Nostr user come and claim a free shake (thanks @Emery -- go give him a follow) which leaves 75K sats left over. These babies need a new home so for those of you that actually read this, drop a worthy organization (must have an account here on Nostr) that could put them to good use. I'll give folks a day or two to submit ideas and then I'll zap 'em. If we get several good submissions, I'll split 'em up between them. So, who are some awesome orgs to redirect these zaps to? #asknostr
