In order to come to terms with #AI, we have to come to terms with the way we raise children, and the way we deal with the new innovations of the next generation. Do I think the AI race is a bit hasty? Sure I do. Do I know enough about the inner workings to really say anything for sure? No, I do not. My main goal here, as it has always been, is to counteract the constant fear and MEME style shock statements we hear and see about Artificial Intelligence. “AI will replace all of us” “AI will destroy art” “AI will make everyone dumb” “AI will turn off our wifi” Or whatever it is you hear out there. I was asking an artist friend if they ever played around with AI. She bluntly and surely replied, “No. I pretend like it doesn’t even exist. It’s not real. I don’t want it.” And my first thought back was, “Don’t neglect the baby”. What? It appears to me, in my incredibly minimal use of any of these LLMs, that they are learning. They are growing and depending on us for a wealth of information. It is quite literally an “infant” brain. Our brains are neurons sending electric impulses and light, and theirs are silicon circuits of electrons creating some sort of cohesive working “thing” And just like in the movies, where dystopia reigns, and zombies, nuclear weapons, technological or bio warfare are the assumed natural evolution of the future, we continue to write the stories of the most gloriously dramatic hellscapes in which everything goes wrong. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE! Can we start pontificating something POSITIVE about the future, please?

Humanless, corporate mass-produced music and art has already been a thing for decades. You ever go to box stores and see people buying those lame pictures of sailboats and leaves that say dumb shit like “Fall”, or “The Kitchen”, or “Our Family Lives Here”? #nostr is just the way. I know it. I feel it. I’m holding steady for the long run. I know so many of you are doing the same. I see you. I feel the connections on Nostr as so much deeper than any other digital life I’ve ever experienced. I’m not here everyday. No matter what the medium, sometimes it’s too much social, period. I focus on my family, I focus on myself and my work, and I focus on the things and people in my life that bring me joy and genuine good feelings. Most other things and people that drag me down, I tell to fuck off, and send them packing with love. It’s a harsh defense mechanism to protect my own energy, but it’s vital. I’m tired of hiding from other peoples’ sensitivities, and letting myself be less because of someone else’s fears. I’ve done a lot of that, and repressed a lot of what I really believe and feel to fit in to relationships and social circles who insist “being nice” is far better than being honest. Don’t be Nice. Be Free. Don’t hold yourself back on account of anybody. And if you do it all with love, not fear, the right way will come. I can only speak from experience, as I do the work myself, and this glorious life continues to unfold around me, despite the clutter and the chaos. I’m Free. ✌🏼🧡🏴‍☠️

#GM folks. I miss you guys. I’ve not had much to report lately. Just enjoying the good things in life, and trying to cope with the parts that are not as ideal. For example, the rains have returned to the #PNW where I live, and I have been compelled to have to put socks on to go outside. 😔 Watching the geese fly south, I lament; “Take me with you!” I wasn’t built to be this far from the equator. 🥵🥶
