Back to a fishing note from yesterday and making it fun for the kids-here’s a great story. A guy I know bought his boy a Donald Trump lure off of Amazon. You literally pull it by Dons head and it’s got a treble hook on it. While it was a joke that made his kid laugh, his son actually caught this giant walleye after a few casts. For those who don’t know, walleye have a cult like group that targets them in fishing. They’re cool and they’re difficult to catch. For those who do fish walleye, you’ll know how absolutely absurd it is that this kid caught that size walleye on an Amazon DT lure. I’d kill to catch walleye like that on any set up. #anglerstr

Helped my friend hang nets today to protect the grapes in his vineyard. He gave us bottles of his wine for the help that we can now have with elk steaks. It’s satisfying to know where it all comes from.

Elk Hunting Hacks 1. Miss bulls on opening day so you have an excuse to continue hunting for 29 more days in September. 2. Kill a small bird(Grouse) for your friend to make up for wasting his time. Not hunting related(in the animal sense) but this was a pretty cool find at a family members house. After he passed, we found a couple newspapers in the house along with some old Naval Call for fire logs. They nailed it back in WWII though… living costs rocketed slightly above 10%.

My brother just convert an enclosed trailer into a hunting rig with solar, lithium batteries, chest freezer, etc. Needs a couple bitaxe for heat and a HAM set up and we’re golden.
