I’d love to know when I can start pestering all my local shops that use a square terminal to accept bitcoin. @jack When I can amplify my own personal orange-pilling crusade?
I’m 99% sure I was just the attempted target of a social engineering attack, and it felt quite sophisticated. Calling out to the community to help me inform folks of how this went down. Specifically anyone involved with @Swan Bitcoin bitcoin as the call was supposedly coming from their “team”.
After XRP moon boys are having a day and seeing some normie takes on “crypto” and govt… my bear case still stands: people are fucking stupid
One of life’s great teachers and a masterful artist of presence and prayer. image
If you ever find yourself questioning life, remember…. There are people that think XRP is here to save them and diSmAnTle ThE SysTeM… honestly, wtf?
Protests, flag waving, finger wagging, viral propaganda, politricks, corporate interests…. And NOSTR/Bitcoin makes it all feel like an irrelevant distraction. These protocols are the crucible for a free world.
NOSTR is cool because it is a protocol that came after the platform… And as I type this, it dawns on me that in many ways all protocols are too. Protocols are anchored solutions to real world problems. You’ve likely heard that TCP/IP or email are protocols that came first and the platforms came after. But is that case? The problem/need always looking to be solved was light speed communication en masse. And we had pony express, postal service, radio, telephone. All were platform iterations to solving this problem with the best means of the day. Humanity hadn’t quite arrived at the moment for the protocol to emerge. Until it arrives. Then instead platforms looking for a protocol, platforms are built upon the protocol. Bitcoin as protocol solves the needs of money. Most platforms expressed prior to it was attempting to solve this problem in the best way with the capability of the time. (I count FIAT as a malicious hijacking of this core need). NOSTR is that echo from a deep need to weave our social fabric across all identity strata globally. The platforms leading up to of which were the public square, the corner pub, the centralized media/social media platforms. And again thinking out loud here, it would seem that platforms begin organically and evolve over time becoming centralized forms before a protocol finally emerges that fully liberates the need trying to be solved and doing it in a decentralized and open way. What protocols await us that liberate longstanding needs and frees them from centralized walled gardens of control? We might find them in the platforms we currently use that remain in centralized control. I’m just musing out loud and would love to hear your input and reflections 🙏🏼
It’s strange walking when out and about around town, stopping to grab the random items that brick and mortar stores *might* have in stock. It’s eerie, and has been for a while, and perhaps that’s the bitcoiner lens… Knowing we exist in a zombie economy. A dead paradigm that still has moving legs. While simultaneously living on the other side.
Where my Clubhouse bitcoiners at? I owe that brief flash in the pan era and the regulars on Clubhouse sincere gratitude. I learned so much in that open market of spoken word during the paradoxical lock down of speech and thought. I was thoroughly orange pilled through the musings of @HODL and the unhinged rants of TINA (pour one out for the homie). I received masterclasses in self-custody and multi sig from @DETERMINISTIC OPTIMISM 🌞. I went from normie to node runner in under two months. The shared knowledge during that period was actually insane. Random people asking obvious questions from OG’s ad nauseam. I was a sponge of learning absorbing every fucking orange pill my nervous system would allow and I would become my neighborhood dealer of psychopathy. I’m grateful I got to experience it. A seemingly bygone era just prior to @Michael Saylor et al. Just in time to witness some of the true punk rock essence of bitcoin before it would get veiled by the mainstream. And I owe all those folks a bow and salute. 🫡 Those clubhouse sessions instilled a conviction that would carry me through the bear market and into today, where I now get to receive the thank you’s from those I’ve dosed with the top shelf, pure, ground up and railed straight to the brain orange pill that I received. Thanks for getting me hooked ya’ll 🙏🏼💪🏼
The United States is somehow and weirdly, simultaneously the best and shittiest country.
