Making progress even though it doesn't seem like it visually. I've spent all morning figuring out how to make sure top toolbar items stay within their respective columns. The key here is that if you don't at least have one toolbar item in the far right column, then the center toolbar items spill over. Quite the qwirky behavior. Also, nice to have built in emoji picker 😃 Onward!image

Gm nostr! Let’s go! I’ve been on Twitter since 2009. Over the years I’ve mainly used it to discover interesting gamedev stuff, pixel artists, etc. normally I would bookmark or simply like things to keep a reference to them. I believe I will start the process of compiling this info and depart Twitter. I’m committed to Nostr and what better way to show that than focus all my attention here.

At dinner last night with my wife we were talking about a guy that I worked with years ago at Microsoft. He hired me which kickstarted my career in software development. He was a cool guy with a big heart. My friend just text'd me that he passed away this morning. It's wild how are brains work. I hadn't talked to or thought about him for quite some time.

image GM Nostr! I’m excited to share more about what I’m building and why. My project is Seer, a consumer-friendly, NIP-29 enabled application that's native to Apple platforms. Why Apple first? That's where my expertise lies. I believe the Nostr ecosystem needs more apps that are intuitive for newcomers while delivering exceptional performance and leveraging the latest platform features. Seer will concentrate on NIP-29 relay-based group communications. I'm staying focused on making group interactions seamless and efficient, without trying to encompass all of Nostr's capabilities. This approach echoes what @jack pointed out a while back about the value of "micro apps" — tools that do one thing exceptionally well. Additionally, Seer will be powered by my Swift Nostr libraries, Nostr and NostrClient. While there are some excellent options out there, I plan to develop and adapt these libraries specifically to fit Seer’s needs. This doesn't mean they can’t be used for other Nostr projects, but my primary goal is to ensure they serve Seer’s requirements optimally and conveniently. I'm looking forward to bringing Seer into your hands and making Nostr even more accessible to everyone. Stay tuned!

Got pulled back into improving my nostr swift libraries today. The nostr client needed to be more intelligent about how it handles setting up connections and subscriptions. It’s much better now.

At least once a day my iOS @primal app gets choppy scrolling. If I swipe that app out of memory and restart it fixes it.

Any other NASCAR fans out here in the nostrverse? My guy Ryan Blaney won last weekend at Iowa which was the first time the Cup series ever ran there. They are at Nee Hampshire this weekend.

Nip-29 is on the horizon, promising to reduce our reliance on group communication tools like Slack and Telegram. I envision it as a straightforward and user-friendly solution, including the deployment of a Nip-29 relay. With Nip-29, you’ll be able to join relays to discuss topics that interest you. Moderation features will be available, allowing for the possibility of being banned. However, this isn’t a significant issue—if your voice isn’t welcomed somewhere, you can easily set up your own relay with your preferred groups. This process will be accessible to users of all experience levels. This is the driving force behind Seer. I’m starting with native apps for Apple platforms because I believe that using platform-specific tools and frameworks yields the best results. My goal is to create applications that seamlessly integrate with the platform they run on. Stay tuned for updates—Seer development is progressing well.

Thinking about streaming development on Seer. I’ve never streamed before. How should I get started? Zap.stream? Twitch? Both? 😅
