The jury box is where people come into the court; the judge watches them and the jury watches back. A jury is the place where the bargain is struck. The jury attends in judgment, not only upon the accused, but also upon the justice and humanity of the law. E.P. Thompson’s analysis, from his 1980 book Writing by Candlelight, is — quite rightly — oft-quoted. However, the English common law continues to take a battering far more harsh than any ‘named storm’ may deliver, at the hands of all three branches of government. Common law is variously labelled as out of date or, worse still, ‘abolished’ and ‘replaced’ by statute.  Tenpenny Monday Minute An abhorrent practice I have detested for years is finally ending. Finally! The federal government will stop paying physicians based on the number of patients they vaccinate. Even better, the HHS is urging state health agencies to stop using similar financial incentives. It’s very simple. Financial incentives distort medical judgment. My friend Dr. Meryl Nass has looked into the issue and found that pediatricians often rely on these financial incentives to supplement their income, even though these incentives damage the doctor-patient relationship. It’s a revolving door. I wrote about it in a previous substack, and it is certainly covered in my book Zero Accountability. Let’s face it. Our children’s needs have taken the back burner for a LONG time. The system as it is prioritizes the needs of insurance companies and the government over your health.
