I feel that between nostr, torrents, zaps and payment splits, the tools for building a better YouTube exist. Seeders could profit share v4v, users could pay or access for "free" via ads - both paying seeders and creators. Hosting burden is shared across paid users. Content ownership is easy enough with the crypto in nostr.

A user adoption slump in an early protocol is like catching a nice little swimming pool when quiet, you can float about and have room to think. With too many people it's loud and the water gets choppy. As the protocol matures the swimming pool getting bigger, so when users return they're less annoying. Happened in lightning during covid slump, and was a great time to float about and think/build.

Spent the day trying to transition LNbits from poetry2nix (unmaintained) to uv2nix (not ready) for our nix build. I feel like the only answer to to freeze our nix build for a few versions until poetry2nix is back on its feet or uv2nix is more usable. Wish we had resources/time to contribute to either, but for now we just have to wait 😭
