The Greek root of this command is the same as in "holy" and "saint," fundamentally a demand that we set the one, true God--source of ourselves and of ALL THINGS--apart in the unique, special place of reverence and honor in our thinking that he alone merits.
I think of it as "honor to whom honor is due." ๐ค
When I invent or create or design or write something of value, I appreciate it when people recognize it's worth, and then acknowledge me as it's creator.๐
Likewise, as I observe his actions and his loving kindness to all of us, I so long for everyone to see and recognize those same characteristics and attribute them to Jesus.
English "Hallowed" Likewise means "holy" or "set apart," and my appeal to you today is to recognize and acknowledge Jesus as the one true living creator/God, who cares enough about you to seek you out and make a difference in your life and your future.
