Most of my coding time used to be wasted configuring IDEs across different systems and troubleshooting setup issues. Since learning how to run a code-server Docker container thanks to @Gooyban , I set things up once and code anywhere. Absolute game-changer!

Just learned that one of our jujitsu fighters has passed! We were rolling just two weeks ago. She was most likely younger than me. I’m at a loss for words! 😥

"Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love." Gandalf the Gray The Hobbit trilogy makes for great Christmas family-time movies. They are long, but never boring. Full of action; sometimes over the top. But, hey, it’s a fantasy! what did you expect? I found them quite entertaining, though I’ve heard some of the criticisms as well which seem to be fair. For instance, the Hobbit book is much shorter than The Lord of the Rings, but Warner Bros was intent on making a trilogy (probably because it would bring them more money), so they stretched the story out. I haven’t read the book (yet), so I can’t judge on that front. But for what they were, The Hobbit films were enjoyable. One thing that struck me from the start was the heavy use of animation, which was much more common here than in The Lord of the Rings. I assume it was a way to keep the budget down, which feels a bit unprofessional. But I got used to them. They’re not as epic as The Lord of the Rings, but I shit you not, watching them actually made me more interested in The Lord of the Rings and helped me follow its story logic better. That’s exactly what we did afterward: we watched all of The Lord of the Rings. Last but not least, they have my most favorite wizard of them all: Radagast. It's a pity he does not appear in Lord of the Rings. So this remains an exclusive point for The Hobbit. Score: 7/10 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)! Rewatch worthy: Yes ✅ #film #cinema #filmstr #filmreview #movies

@Justin (shocknet) was generous enough with his time to help me figure out the issue with my lightning.pub setup. Now it’s been up and running for 7 hrs straight, while it used to go stale after a maximum of 2 hours, but mostly several minutes after logging out of my VPS. Now I have my own lightning node for the first time! It doesn’t matter that my hardware node is unreliable, a dirt-cheap VPS (4 EUR/month) can make you sovereign. 👑 When I figure it out well enough, I’ma make a tutorial and share it with you! image

Recently, ChatGPT asked me to personalize its tone and I selected “Professional”. It was described as precise and to the point. I really see how it has changed. It used to always start responding with this annoying “Oh, good question”, but now it doesn’t give me any of that crap. On a few occasions it has responded to me like “The error is straightforward: … exactly as written.” I was gonna go like “Dude, tone it down a little bit!” 😂

For the first time in history, we have a finite monetary system that can serve as a constant measuring stick. Our legacy monetary units were only relative. One dollar today is one dollar divided by x dollars, while tomorrow, it’s one divided by x + n dollars (and never – n). We could never rely on our money as a stable point of reference for measuring improvements in productivity. We’re fortunate to live in a time when Bitcoin exists. One Bitcoin is divided by 21 million. In a hyperbitcoinized world, we can finally see how far we’ve come in terms of productivity by using a consistent monetary measuring stick. We will not adulterate the currency unit. One Bitcoin is equal to 100 million sats. There are a lot of hurdles on the path to Bitcoin adoption, but getting confused about sats vs. Bitcoin is hardly one of them. Sats are the standard. View quoted note →
