The current Keychat Wallet is a Bitcoin Ecash (Cashu) wallet that offers excellent privacy. However, it’s a custodial solution — the Cashu mint ultimately controls the sats. As such, users shouldn’t store too many sats in it. We’re currently exploring Bitcoin Layer 2 Ark and waiting for it to mature. In the future, Keychat Wallet may integrate an Ark wallet and intelligently choose between Ecash sats and Ark sats depending on the context.

You can run multiple Nostr web clients at the same time inside the Keychat Browser — all without any extra cost. Keychat takes care of both ID login and the wallet used for zaps, so everything just works. Each Nostr web client offers its own unique experience.

IDs (Public Key) + Wallet (Bitcoin) + Browser (Mini Apps) + Chat

If you log in to Keychat with your Nostr ID, when someone sends a Nostr DM (NIP-4 or NIP-17) to this ID, Keychat can receive the messages as well as message notifications. However, Keychat cannot reply to NIP-4 DMs, but it can reply to NIP-17 DMs. You could think of this feature as a kind of message notification for Nostr DMs, but it’s not something we emphasize as a core feature.
