Logging into Nostr services is so wonderful. When I don’t have my password or my manager is acting up (happens often) on mobile, I just give up and wait until I’m on desktop again. But I just did this with @nostr.build and remembered they had the “login with DM” and in a few seconds was in my account. I love it. The key based web is gonna solve so many annoying fucking problems😭🙏🏻 I do have a question for @The Fishcake (nostr.build) though, I don’t seem to have anyway to upload media on mobile. Is this my browser or is there something not showing right on the mobile version of the page? 🤔

GM I finally have the new contractor ready to go, and I have a smaller team that will finish out the upstairs second bathroom that has been out of commission for more than a year now. We are coming up on the 2 year mark for this “6 month project” and we will have been without a laundry room for a full year on August 4th. Our new contractor has to tear out everything “done” and start from scratch, so I’m basically out all of the money we invested in framing, ducting, and electrical downstairs up to this point. However, starting from nothing, his timeline is 3 months… which is what this should have been from the start. If they stick to that timeline, this will end up being a 27 month project that COULD have been completed in 3 months, and I could’ve just been stacking sats through all that time rather than splitting my days between correcting work downstairs, maintaining loans, trying to figure out how to spend as little BTC as possible, and working out of a mess of a “storage closet” essentially with one bathroom and no laundry in the house. This has been one big giant mess, but I feel like the light at the end of the tunnel is coming into focus and I’ll have a real studio, finally after all these years, before this coming winter. And the whole downstairs will be heated by hash power is a quiet and easy setup. Keep moving forward 🫡

Consistent rules and definitions are vastly superior to “more accurate” but regularly changing and inconsistent rules and definitions. Doesn’t matter how perfect your definition or name or term is if you are changing it regularly. The act of changing it makes it way worse than whatever downside there is to how it’s currently referred. Yes I’m talking about changing sats to bitcoins.

Saying you are offended by something because of “it’s history” is basically saying you don’t actually have a reason to be offended but you decided to make one up. Think about it; if someone calls me a piece of shit, I’m not offended because of the history of the word shit, I’m offended because of what the person *explicitly means* by their statement in this current interaction. However if someone beside me said, “can you believe this shit?” in a friendly, joking manner about a ridiculous event, but then I get horribly offended because of some distant history where speaking about shit during casual conversation with someone was an insult that they were of lower status and didn’t deserve to be treated with dignity… well then I’m just being a moron. I actively hunted for some reason to be offended by something, by dragging the context of hypothetical conversations of which I played no part, with people I have never interacted with and don’t know, from hundreds of years in the past, and then arbitrarily placed that meaning into my current conversation, and then got pissed at my friend who in no way was using it to indicate I was of lower class then he. To the contrary, he has absolutely no clue what I’m talking about and now has no interest in telling me about the funny event that took place, and possibly not being my friend either. Just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️

I watched a video that automatically played on X maybe 30 seconds ago and thought it was funny so wanted to save it and post here. The next video played automatically and there is literally no way to see my history, it’s not in the feed, it isn’t in any “for you” section and doesn’t play again if I watch the first video that it played after. It is literally gone, just like that and because I don’t remember what the text was I won’t be able to find it. Platforms will literally destroy the entire purpose and value of the internet just to keep you from closing the tab or going somewhere else. What a joke.
