I really don't understand #nostr / #amethyst notifications.
The notifications tab always starts empty. Sometimes it would remain empty. Sometimes it would load the newest notifications there are. Only the new ones. And sometimes only notifications that are a year old.
Can someone explain this?

"The Last Chance for Peace in the Middle East - The National Interest"
This article is mostly right. Especially the part that for peace to reign in the ME Hamas must be dismantled. The point the writer is missing is that the Hamas is a philosophy. It's a a belief system. This system is held by most of the people living in Gaza.
Even if Hamas will be dismantled, the Hamas in the Gazans heart will remain. Very quickly we will see new Hamas like organizations popping up.

1. Sex has nothing to do with inequality. Or at least it's very low on the list. By the way, this is consistent with the findings that when you take into account the time a person is putting into a job and the profession he chooses the pay gap between men and women is 3%
2. Parents have the highest influence on a childs future.
3. The father has a higher impact then the nother. This explains why women like to "marry up".

What the right doesn't understand, and #AynRand did understand,is that tomorrow the FCC will be used against them.
Jimmy Kimmel was despicable. He deserved the public condemnation. But in a free society that is where it should end. The public should have the freedom to choose if they want Kimmel on air or not.
That choice was taken from the public, by gun point.
Taking someone off air with the threat of the federal government arms is one step behind using arms to silence someone.
This was a violent act of censorship which the left will gladly adopt against the right.

60 years ago, Ayn Rand denounced FCC censorship. Brendan Carr should listen.
For decades, libertarians have warned that broad interpretations of the public interest standard will empower the FCC to engage in censorship.
And now I am moving on to a #port style #wine.

The fruit was strong and so was the acidity. Very well balanced and fun to drink.
This wine went very well with the steak.

Autonomous cars are here!
Or almost here. What we can say for certain that in the next decades the technology will be in a place where autonomous cars will be safer then human driven cars.
The economic ramifications of this are huge! Layoffs in the trucking, mechanics, taxi and insurance sectors. Maybe even in the hospitality sector.
The real question is will regulators allow this to happen? Expect anti autonomous car campaigns.

Here is an unpopular opinion. This is not innatly bd. Hear me out.
There are situations when you do need to identify someone per se. This is usually in government cases. We don't want to jail the wrong person or to prohibited the wrong person from flying. We want to make sure A person who votes has a right to vote and votes only once. A biological ID is very helpful in these cases.
There can be a case for a biological ID in the financial sphere. Biological ID's that can be recreated prevent key lost.
What we need, for freedom to exist, is to separate these two spheres. Gov. will be not allowed to store a financial ID and vice versa.
What we are missing is the concept of privacy as a human right enshrined by a constitution.
To get that we need a philosophical revolution. To make people understand the importance of rights and why privacy is an essential right.
This is a fight of ideas. Not a fight about technology.
